The weekend saw six more qualifiers throw their hat into the ring for the biggest prize in weekly Fantasy Football, as the race for Mondogoal’s £30,000 World Championship picked up pace.

How Does it Work?

In the final Gameweek of the season, Mondogoal will crown their first World Champion and they will go away with a huge £10,000 top prize.

So far, 11 qualifiers have gone forward to the final Gameweek contest, with 159 places still up for grabs. To qualify, you need to win one of Mondogoal’s £30k qualifying contests – you can enter these for as little at £2 – less than the price of a pint, particularly where I live.

Gameweek 24 saw six more qualifiers progress, with the average score totaling just 82.64 in a low scoring Gameweek. Interestingly, five of those six teams lined up with a 3-4-3 formation and, not surprisingly, it was Harry Kane’s haul of 20.31 points that helped decide the contests.

How Do I Enter?

Mondogoal are running three more qualifying contests for the midweek Gameweek. You still have until 7.35pm to select you lineup for either the £2, £10 or £50 contests.

Bear in mind, the more you stake, the more chance you have of making it through, with just 22 teams competing in the £10 contest and only five duking it out in the high-rolling £50 contest.

If you’re consistent with your picks you may even be able to progress with more than one team – you can have up to ten entries in the Championship final come May.

Don’t forget, you can enter multiple contests with the same Mondogoal lineup with the click of a button. Once you’ve created your squad for one contest, go to your list of entries, click on a contest and then click “Enter This Lineup in Other Contests”.

FFS Gameweek 25 Picks

We’re going all out to get our Fantasy Football Scout squad in the Championship final come May 24 and we’d love to see some of the community in the hat alongside us.

From Gameweek 26, Granville and I will also be entering individual teams in the Championship and in a new Fantasy Football Scout challenge league. Look out for details of that next week.

For now, here’s the current lineup to carry our hopes into tonight’s £2 and £10 Qualifying contests….

gw25

As you can see, we’re banking on a Sunderland clean sheet against with sorry QPR turning up at the Stadium of Light without Charlie Austin. We’re pretty confident for this one – cocky enough to even consider loading up with three Black Cats defenders. We may still explore that option, particularly in the unlikely event that Laurent Koscielny is rested in order to give Gabriel Paulista his Arsenal debut against Leicester.

In midfield, with reports growing that Raheem Sterling could be out of this evening’s clash against Spurs, we’re currently backing Philippe Coutinho despite some minor concerns on his fitness – like the Koscielny situation, we’ll have the teamsheets available to verify that pick before the Mondogoal deadline. Marouane Fellaini is a gamble but, at just 6.9 million, one worth taking given his role in recent United performances – we’re backing him to get a start against Burnley at Old Trafford.

Up front, we’ve confidence in both Olivier Giroud and Jermain Defoe, while budgetary restrictions mean that we’ve had to seek out a cheap option to complete the strike force. Villa may have scored just a single goal in their last seven league outings but they are up against a Hull side who are also plunged into a run of miserable form – that’s enough to recognise that Gabby Agbonlahor could offer value at just 4.4 million. Differentials don’t come more gutsy that that.

Of course, our lineup is subject to change. We’ll be exploiting tonight’s teamsheets to tinker further.

Get you lineup together and in the hat to take us on. You’ll find the FFS squad in both the £2 and £10 contests tonight, whilst we’ve also got an entry in the £5 contest offering a £1000 prize pot. Head on over to Mondogoal to get involved now.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    It will be:

    Walcott Ozil Sanchez
    Giroud

Sanchez's injury coincided with Ozil, Walcott and Ramsey coming back - which means some of those partnerships have hardly any minutes to their name. Ahead of the ties vs. Monaco in particular I think AW will want them to build up some understanding and rhythm in those partnerships.

Cazorla meanwhile has built up understandings with all of the above at different times, and for that reason I think he'll get a rest.

"Wait for the line-ups!" I hear you cry in unison

It's easy to see that Wenger will build his frontlines around his 2 most expensive signings ever (Mesut and Alexis). Walcott (as a local favourite) is nailed if fit and Giroud as a frenchman upfront is more nailed than Welbeck imo. I'll like it more with Akpom instead of Giroud but Wenger is Wenger 😀

    http://www.thesportbible.com/articles/man-united-boss-louis-van-gaal-hits-back-at-sam-allardyce

This is the whole conversation from LVG. While I have grown more and more tired with how United are playing, I think some stuff is being taken out of context. His point is that they played long balls, but many of them were to switch the play across the field while West Ham played more solely toward the striker.

Then he goes on to congratulate himself for when they did hit the long balls up to Fellaini and that's when I go back to being fed up.

You can 100% guarantee if Moyes had done this social media would've explored. LVG gets an easy ride..

I think there's a lot of people questioning his tactics and decisions to be fair. But you have to look at it from a results position as well, despite him saying this stuff the club are sat in 3rd place currently.

I was disgusted by how Moyes was treated but they are different situations.

The amount of money they spent and the club of their stature they should be in third. The arrogance surrounding Manchester United and their expectations is disgusting at times.

The point is just that a manager doing those things and being in third place compared to a manager doing those things in a lower position, regardless of money being spent, is going to have a different level of reaction. I'm not saying it is right or anything like that but it is how it is.

Plenty of examples of it, Chelsea bottling some of their easy games got a few "lol at Chelsea" moments but people didn't really care because they're still up top. Meanwhile a club like Dortmund bottling a game against any one of the supposed "easy" opponents winds up in huge scrutiny and outrage because the club desperately needs those points. Same thing happened with Liverpool earlier in the season, they wanted Rodgers' head.

Not sure if I'm making my point well enough or not, apologies if it seems garbled.

"while West Ham played more solely toward the striker."

      Not true.

70% of West Ham's long balls went to striker, and 50% of Man U's long balls went to strikers, but Man U played 83 long balls to West Ham's 45.

So Man U did play more long balls to strikers.

        I wish.

Even just play players in normal positions. I mean ADM, shown to be able to play on the wing or CM (particularly good in CM imo) is a CAM while the likes of Mata or Januzaj who are CAMs get pushed to wings or the bench. Rooney, while fine as a CM, could be replacing RVP and ADM could be taking his position no problem. Herrera not being played is really f**king me off too.

If Sanchez does not start , then I wont have him .
    Thinking then Aguero C

Surely they are not THAT bad without Ya Ya , and Kun has scored well without him playing, before ..
Stoke without Shaw x against a (once) top side look to be vulnerable
Wolly looked a little lost ( I have him) away to Newcastle and with Wilson a doubt this could very well be the " turn around" game
    Thoughts ?

    1. FPL Daniel

He is my present C ( without Sanchez) But really feeling City will turn it on , with Stoke's "fragile" defence. Its the old story in FPL , when you finally give up its all change again ?
