Fantasy Football Scout tasted glory in last weekend’s Mondogoal contests, claiming a signed West Ham signed match-ball on behalf of a community legend, whilst almost nudging our way into the big £30k end of season finale.

All praise Gabby Agbonlahor. His two-goal performance at the Stadium of Light last weekend propelled our Mondogoal squad to victory in the special West Ham matchball contest – helping us to a 123.12 point return. Okay, hands up, we had to enter six teams to win it but, even so – a precious souvenir for £6 is a big win.

For those who caught this week’s ScoutCast, either on YouTube or via yesterday’s post, you’ll know that the prize will be winging its way over to Doosra in a bid to pep him up following illness. Get well soon, fella.

Whilst that selection got the job done, we sadly failed to enter that aforementioned squad into last weekend’s £30k qualifier. Instead, our lineup ranked second, missing out by just eight points as Bigo1 claimed top spot ahead of us. He’s now earned six places in the final day contest in a bid to win the £10,000 top prize.

If you’ve yet to wise up to Mondogoal’s massive end of season contest, here’s the beef:

How Does it Work?

In the final Gameweek of the season, Mondogoal will crown their first World Champion and they will go away with a huge £10,000 top prize.

So far, 62 qualifiers have gone forward to the final Gameweek contest, with 108 places still up for grabs. To qualify, you need to win one of Mondogoal’s £30k qualifying contests – you can enter these for just £2.

How Do I Enter?

Mondogoal are running three more qualifying contests this weekend. You have until 12.35 on Saturday to select you line-up for either the £2, £10 or £50 contests.

The more you lay down with your stake, the more chance you have of making it through, with just 22 teams competing in the £10 contest and only five duking it out in the £50 stake contest.

If you’re consistent with your picks you may even be able to progress with more than one team – you can have up to ten entries in the Championship final come May.

Don’t forget, you can enter multiple contests with the same Mondogoal line-up with the click of a button.

Having multiple teams will obvious increase your outlay but, with the ability to block out defences, you’ll certainly be increasing your chances of hitting a big score.

Once you’ve created your squad for one contest, go to your list of entries, click on a contest and then click “Enter This Line-up in Other Contests”.

Mondogoal are also offering a pair of West Ham tickets for their forthcoming home match with Stoke City.

FF Scout Gameweek 30 Picks

mg

First up, Hugo Lloris looks a steel for this week’s contests – while we don’t expect him to be peppered with shots and return points for saves, a clean sheet looks on the cards at home to Leicester; at just 4.9 million, we can’t look beyond the Frenchman.

Elsewhere, we’ve not managed to squeeze in any of Spurs’ attacking assets, preferring instead to build this XI around the talents of Sadio Mane and Eden Hazard in midfield. Both bristle with goal threat at Hull and at home to Burnley respectively and, like our other midfield selections – Charles N’Zogbia and Yannick Bolasie – will draw foul points aplenty.

At the back, we’ve opted for the twin threat of attacking talent and clean sheet potential, with three full-back raiders covering the Southampton, Chelsea and Arsenal defences: all three look well placed for shutouts. Bellerin, in particular, looks a bargain at just 5.8 million.

Up front, we’re compelled to look the way of Olivier Giroud once again, given his current form – the 11.9 million price tag looks modest and allows us to afford West Ham’s Diafra Sakho, who will surely carry the threat to a beleaguered Sunderland this weekend. The final striker spot goes to Southampton’s Shane Long – a cheap enabler at just 5.7 million – we’re hoping he keeps his start having ousted Graziano Pelle at the Bridge to provide us with some decent value against the Clarets at St Mary’s.

We’ll be entering this lineup in a variety of contests this weekend, including Mondogoal’s £2 qualifier for the £30k World Championship.

As always, we’ll be waiting on the teamsheet for the early kick-off at the Etihad to see if we can eek any advantage via last minute tweaks.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Where do we sit on Cazorla (don't say face)?
He has dropped further back and was rested last game, probably for the CL. But with Arsenal back to full strength he could be a further risk.
Newcastle up next but I feel there is better value out there.

      It's either him or Sanchez.

Breadbin posted a very helpful comment about how Arsenal would lineup now that they're back to full strength. With Ramsey back, Cazorla could be shifted into the hole and playe CAM. Would keep if that was the case.

I was going to ditch him for Mane but having second thoughts. Southampton have a poor goalscoring record lately and at least with Arsenal you know they normally score quite a few.

      Really undecided.

Problem is Opsina has no game in GW33 and Migs may also have no game

Also think Migs isn't worth it with Skrtel only 0.5 more and Sakho 0.3 less.

hmm, I suppose without a wc either one works, still think Opsina and Pool defender is better (and cheaper) than Migs and an Arsenal defender as by GW37 Debuchy will be back

Several players to undergo late fitness tests...

MARK HUGHES is sweating on the availability of several of his first-team personnel ahead of tomorrow’s Barclays Premier League encounter against Crystal Palace.

The Potters play host to the Eagles looking to bounce back from last weekend’s reverse at West Brom and record a third successive league triumph at the Britannia Stadium.

Hughes is almost certain to be without former Palace forward Victor Moses through injury, whilst the likes of Jonathan Walters, Erik Pieters and Philipp Wollscheid will all undertake late fitness tests.

Speaking to Stoke City Player on Friday morning, the Welshman said: “We have got a few bumps and bruises in the squad in fairness, so we are going to have to wait until the last minute before we make a decision on them.

“Probably the one that looks most unlikely to play at this moment in time is Victor Moses, who still hasn’t managed to get over the bang he sustained to his hip on Saturday.

“We will give him as much time as we can to try and recover from it, but at the moment it looks like the game may come a little too early for him.

“With Jonathan, he has gone through a fairly routine operation, but we will have to see how he has recovered from that tomorrow morning.

“As always, if Jon feels that he can go out there and do himself justice and help the team then he will put his hand up, but if he isn’t then he will be honest enough to tell us.”

Should Walters or Moses fail to recover from their injuries in time then their positions in the side are likely to go to either Marko Arnautovic, who impressed in his cameo appearance last weekend, or Senegalese man Mame Diouf.

one should choose to play the midfielders you expect to get the most points. Lets say you think cazorla will get 4 points, and Eriksen 3 points, you should bench Eriksen, even though you have "Arsenal-cover" with Giroud...

            Simple mathematics, really.

You didn't think about it hard enough.

I was seeing if he could bench one of his strikers instead, as that's a great midfield.

If you like 2 transfer every week go play MLS Fantasy!

with 2 transfer every week almost everyone will have the same team! and Imagine if someone saves their 2 transfer they will have 4 transfer the week next..thats like a mini wc..handling the game to the people..

I say they should give 1 after every alternate week!

So the transfers wouldn't roll over at all. And right now, everyone surely has the same team as it takes four or five weeks to make a serious change. A more fluid format allows you take risks and break from a mold as you know you can recover faster.

Not sure I would ditch Sanchez before they play Newcastle, Ozil was poor against Monaco.

Yes...but Özil has a blank gw on 33 and Chelsea after that, so how does your bench look like ?And I would consider Ramsey as well, cheaper and probably will match the points with Özil.

      Cheers.

Maybe Ramsey or Mané is better than Ozil? I feel Ivanovic is (and has been) essential until the end of the season. Need to sell one of my big hitters in midfield to fund buying him.

      My team is

      Foster - Panti
      Clyne - Naughton - Rose - Dawson - PVA
      Haz - Silva - Eriksen - Sanchez - Walter
      Aguero - Kane - Giroud
