Slinking quietly into the velour chair of our virtual betting shop, cap dipped low after another mauling by Paddy, we slide another betting slip from the pile to take up the challenge again for this week’s Fantasy Flutter.

Did we shoot for the stars and overlook measured value for the big odds, or did our Scout Picks fall short of their predicted contributions? Perhaps a bit of both, but this week we are determined to chalk a few up for the good as Paddy market up Jose Bosingwa, Luis Suarez, Steven Taylor, David Silva and Shane Long, not to mention a tasty treble on the one hundered percent teams – Man United, Wolves and Man City. Read on to find out how our Picks play out in Paddys world…

The monobrowed maestro Jose Bosingwa has risen like a phoenix from the ashes under the stewardship of André Villas-Boas. In flying form, he mirrors Ashley Cole’s devestating overlaps and provides serious threat from Chelsea’s right flank. Paddy may have been a bit over-zealous with odds for him to get a red card at 40’s, having only been written into the referee’s book once last year, whereas 2 assists or more at 10/1 earns our interest and deserves a punt for £1.

Luis Suarez continues to poach goals whenever his slick footwork graces the turf and he’ll have a place in Fantasy managers and punters minds alike this weekend. Paddy have put together some pretty tempting specials here, including odds to score a header and to find the net from a free kick. Nice respectable odds with decent probability, but we fancy a spot of sabre rattling and are going to knock down 14/1 on Suarez to miss a penalty. With the Uruguayan failing to convert on the opening day, we’ll stake a quid on the planets aligning for this one.

With the last of the long shots out of our system, let’s get down to some serious betting with some semi-serious money. Next up is Steven Taylor against Fulham, challenging us with the likes of two or more goals at 80/1 and to score from outside the box at 22/1. Tempted? Sure. Do we remember last week’s thrashing by Paddy? Definitely. Newcastle stand a good chance of gaining a cleanie against The Cottagers but Taylor to get a brace? Too rich for our blood but have a sniff if you fancy backing the Magpies’ tower of strength.

Sans Tevez, David Silva is really making his mark on the Premier League this season in emphatic style. A veteran of the Scout Picks already this season, he glides between passes through the apparent acres of space that only he can find, notching up well earned bonus points along the way. As City push forward in numbers, Silva has a tendency to take a step off the line, lying in wait to pull the trigger if the ball is played square. With Spurs allowing Man United to remain mostly unchallenged in these situations in Monday night’s game, Silva to score from outside the box at 5/1 looks massive for £2.

If Paddy had given odds on Shane Long bullying the oft immovable Alex off the ball with such ease we wouldn’t have wasted time looking at them, let alone opened our wallets. But he did, the week after putting a goal away against United. Paddy are wagering completes a hat-trick of first goals this week against Stoke at the Hawthorns at 11/2, a worthy punt for £2.

Acca-not believe it!

Can the top three maintain their 100% records. Form big guns from Manchester United and City take on the out of sorts Londoners Arsenal and Spurs, whilst the clash between Wolves and Villa makes a surprise tussle for third place. Wolves look like the real risk here, although the journey time won’t be an issue and with Matt Jarvis on form as both provider and finisher last week, our final £4 goes on this huge treble of Man City, Man United and Wolves all to win at 14/1.

Check back next week to find out how our bets got on and how long it took us to count our winnings.

Can't see him starting the next game. I thought he looked good against Sc*nthorpe, decent movement, good passing some nice tekkers - but he did look a little rusty. Needs to build fitness so will probably be on the bench.
Of the Newcastle midfield my first FPL choice would be Cabaye, followed by Jonas then Obertan at the moment. When all are fit then Ben Arfa is straight in my side.

I was surprised to see Moses in the Scout Picks given that he's still officially 'a doubt'. I'm playing him, but just saying it's ballsy for a Pick. I see he's in the expected line-up in the team news section too.

thought the same ... especially suarez to miss a penalty. fisrt of all liverpool have to get a penaly, secondly suarez has to take it(adam or kuyt will be on penos after suarezs last one), and even if he gets the peno, then thirdly he has to miss it. for 14/1 its bananas

I really don't particularly won't to make a transfer. But this Luke Young news (is it 100% confirmed?) has left me short handed.
I could swap him out, but I'd probably bench the player I was planning to bring in for him. It's the subs I worry about, I'll be down to Young (fecked and off to QP bastard R), Kompany, and Holt.

I was planning making at least two changes next week, surely I should save the transfer eh?

Please reassure me. I'll cry otherwise.

Who would you get? Might be worth it if you were getting someone long term like Enrique who's got a good shout for a cs this weekend.

If you're gonna bench whoever then just wait on the transfer, Man City might bring their shovels to White Hart Lane.

It'd be between Enrique and Briggs. One is a better long term bet, t'other is a great punt but probably short - mid term dependant on Riise's injury.

Stay strong. If you use the transfer you may end up taking a hit to make a double move next week. Will your bench player really get more than 4 points less than the player you'd bring in?

For a 1 match, no risk, totally random punt...I'd say Anelka...he was accurate and tried to get into attacking positions...may also last longer in the game in terms of game time...

If you've got Yaya he shouldn't be sitting on your bench. Although he may be playing as a holding mid, his goal threat is still too high to have sitting dormant, especially in such a form team.

But, if you're not going to play/start Moses at home to QPR then there's no point having him, even being an injury doubt.

      So best think again really.

I'd go for Yaya. Even if Moses plays he'll likely not finish the match and Wigan still haven't scored from open play while City have been banging them in.

Those are all logical arguments...Think I will stick with Yaya then. Thanks guys for helping me decide...got some advice earlier too that was good.

Moses will most likely stay or change depending on where I choose to build on my team..so not too worried about him just yet as I have ideas for other positions...

      Hmmmm interesting thought.

I have both and with De Jong still out Yaya is likely to do shag all. Is Moses just going to be a sub though due to his recent knock?

If I had the balls I'd put Moses in but alas I need to play it safe to catch up my leader. Now, for me, is mot a good time for gambling.

The 8.0m price tag makes me feel safer. Weird how that works innit?!

So Jafa you saying Moses then? I will most likely have to sell Yaya for a very near future option I am working on so could his time be up now? Seems nuts to even ponder this really...

Yaya is out of my team asap when the opportunity permits. There's a real lack of quality mids this year. Yep, you've got to look at Moses this week. The Scouts have already highlighted his attacking potential in an earlier article.

Yes except I'd play Jarvis (if Wolves score he will more than likely be the assister) rather than Sess (also away, lot so wayward shots off target, in a side lacking form)

Jarvis has proven himself this season, Sess has yet to.

Bit of a tight one between Yaya and Jarvis esp if Yaya is on DM duties.
I'd find it hard to leave a 6 mill defender out of the team.
