Slinking quietly into the velour chair of our virtual betting shop, cap dipped low after another mauling by Paddy, we slide another betting slip from the pile to take up the challenge again for this week’s Fantasy Flutter.

Did we shoot for the stars and overlook measured value for the big odds, or did our Scout Picks fall short of their predicted contributions? Perhaps a bit of both, but this week we are determined to chalk a few up for the good as Paddy market up Jose Bosingwa, Luis Suarez, Steven Taylor, David Silva and Shane Long, not to mention a tasty treble on the one hundered percent teams – Man United, Wolves and Man City. Read on to find out how our Picks play out in Paddys world…

The monobrowed maestro Jose Bosingwa has risen like a phoenix from the ashes under the stewardship of André Villas-Boas. In flying form, he mirrors Ashley Cole’s devestating overlaps and provides serious threat from Chelsea’s right flank. Paddy may have been a bit over-zealous with odds for him to get a red card at 40’s, having only been written into the referee’s book once last year, whereas 2 assists or more at 10/1 earns our interest and deserves a punt for £1.

Luis Suarez continues to poach goals whenever his slick footwork graces the turf and he’ll have a place in Fantasy managers and punters minds alike this weekend. Paddy have put together some pretty tempting specials here, including odds to score a header and to find the net from a free kick. Nice respectable odds with decent probability, but we fancy a spot of sabre rattling and are going to knock down 14/1 on Suarez to miss a penalty. With the Uruguayan failing to convert on the opening day, we’ll stake a quid on the planets aligning for this one.

With the last of the long shots out of our system, let’s get down to some serious betting with some semi-serious money. Next up is Steven Taylor against Fulham, challenging us with the likes of two or more goals at 80/1 and to score from outside the box at 22/1. Tempted? Sure. Do we remember last week’s thrashing by Paddy? Definitely. Newcastle stand a good chance of gaining a cleanie against The Cottagers but Taylor to get a brace? Too rich for our blood but have a sniff if you fancy backing the Magpies’ tower of strength.

Sans Tevez, David Silva is really making his mark on the Premier League this season in emphatic style. A veteran of the Scout Picks already this season, he glides between passes through the apparent acres of space that only he can find, notching up well earned bonus points along the way. As City push forward in numbers, Silva has a tendency to take a step off the line, lying in wait to pull the trigger if the ball is played square. With Spurs allowing Man United to remain mostly unchallenged in these situations in Monday night’s game, Silva to score from outside the box at 5/1 looks massive for £2.

If Paddy had given odds on Shane Long bullying the oft immovable Alex off the ball with such ease we wouldn’t have wasted time looking at them, let alone opened our wallets. But he did, the week after putting a goal away against United. Paddy are wagering completes a hat-trick of first goals this week against Stoke at the Hawthorns at 11/2, a worthy punt for £2.

Acca-not believe it!

Can the top three maintain their 100% records. Form big guns from Manchester United and City take on the out of sorts Londoners Arsenal and Spurs, whilst the clash between Wolves and Villa makes a surprise tussle for third place. Wolves look like the real risk here, although the journey time won’t be an issue and with Matt Jarvis on form as both provider and finisher last week, our final £4 goes on this huge treble of Man City, Man United and Wolves all to win at 14/1.

Check back next week to find out how our bets got on and how long it took us to count our winnings.

Unchanged from GW2 in terms of personnel:
    Vorm (Given)
    Cole, Shawcross, Lescott, Johnson(WOL) (R Taylor-1)
    Silva, Nani, Sinclair, Moses (Rodwell-2)
    Rooney(C), Suarez (Holt-3)

Going with Vorm over Given and Sinclair & Moses are on their last chance. I plan to bring Brunt in for Sinclair and also replace Rodwell. Moses at £5M will drop to bench for GW4.

My competition is sleeping, the price changes occurred so I am feeling comfortable to show u my WC team.

I am previous fan of expensive defense but with the new BP rules it seems that nowadays CS is not same as a goal, like in the past. I know that some of the comments are gonna be that my defense is little bit light, but they rotate almost perfectly for the next 10 GW's or so.

I've tried to cover every team best attacking option with decent captain choices and one mid as a bench folder most of the time. Thoughts are welcomed.

I got lucky tonight so hoping to have a run 😀 hahahah. The team as followed. Please be constructive.

    Given (Vorm)
Bos, Caulker, S. Taylor (De Laet, Briggs)
Lamps (c), Silva, Walcott, Brunt (Dyer)
    Rooney, Suarez, Fletcher

The plan is going with the Fatty, see how he comes and easily he could become VDV or Mata (after Utd)depends on form.

    Cheers,

Pretty good team. Why are you playing your WC so early?

Nice Team. Defense is light but as you say they rotate nicely. I am doing the same thing with Lampard by waiting for the best option below him.

Yeah, you may want to upgrade a defender. I see a pattern of defenders receiving the BP's too. Maybe downgrade Walcott for someone else and upgrade Caulker or Briggs to Enrique.

I would keep Caulker I am fond of the guy, I could upgrade Briggs and I had one version like that with him and Bale instead of Walcott but I've analyzed the Liv fixtures closely and I think there will be only 1 CS in the next 5 or so and on the other hand Walcott will bring the points and I've decided that I prefer DVD as Tot cover rather than Bale and I don't see other mids that I want to I went for Briggs.

He was the last piece of the puzzle. Even if Risse is back that's why the transfers are for.

I recommend most of the lads to play the WC in the international brake,

That's the only reason I exclude Enrique out of my team now.

Hope it's the right decision.. We can see it tonight.

You got lucky but still found the time to go on FPL AND the scout? Well done.

As for team, I like it. Briggs is maybe a bit too short term, shipped him out last week but he will probably get a few starts now. You have the most solid midfield I have seen on the scout this season I think, I am a fan.

      Good luck!

Thanks lads I think I am gonna keep Rooney, so I can't have RVP upfront, that means Walcott, seems like he is in form and Ars has excellent fixtures. I expect him to score even against Utd.

If Risse injury is not that serious then I would upgrade to Senderos that is 0.5 more I don't have them at the moment but will have them in the future surely. I think this team could do well in long term. I have plenty of cash in Frank if needed and I want to keep Walcott.

I've researched about defense patterns and it seems that those 4 defense are excellent if someone has more cash could bring more expensive Ful defender. Nor and Swa are less likely but for the cash are worth. On other hand New and Ful I expect to bring the defending points. Nice rotation all the way, That rotation even made me reconsider and finally selling Enrique.

Final dilemma was Brunt and Fletch or Jarvis and Long or Klasnic or whatever and I went as shown.

One note to fantasy managers is that I love the 6 - 6.5 m strikers available and I believe that there will be always one of the bunch with form and fixtures ready for my team so I am not gonna have 3 expensive forwards. I prefer more balanced team.

Thanks to everybody for the comments. I hope to go up in the rankings cause I am doing awful ATM.

Yeah Gedda tonight is the night 😀 Lucky hahahaha. Nahhh I had the team in my mind I was just waiting for double risers in Jarvis and RT but they didn't happened. So bad but that is it I am happy and this way.

I'm the Anti-Expensive Defence so we are probably polar opposites.

Walcott and Dyer strike me as a little leftfield.

A QPR defender rather than a Norwich one.

Lamps and Fletcher would not be in my team. Lamps is poor value for current output and Fletcher just isn't going to justify inclusion with low returns.

Sess, Bent would be my suggestions as a starter.

THanks Jafalad, u think I am gonna have cash for Bent and Sess in middle. Hmmm I would think about that but I love the options upfront in that price range. I will check on that. As much I don't like Bent.

          Maybe Fletch to Bent,
          S Taylor to Simpson
          And Walcott to Jarvis?

Better like that or keep the balance?
