FPL Rotation Finder
The best rotation pairs and trios in the game — clubs whose fixtures cover each other, and the cheapest players who give you access to them. Scored on the per-gameweek best of the pair, never the sum.
Rotating defenders or a keeper? Use Clean sheet odds. Rotating attackers? Use Projected goals. Difficulty is the all-purpose view, and matches the colours on the Season Ticker.
Best club rotations
Every pair of clubs ranked over your window. This is the engine behind every other section: the fixture half of a rotation is a property of the CLUB, and the player is just the cheapest way to buy into it.
Best defender rotations at £4.5m and below
The cheapest possible defensive rotation. Two 4.5m defenders is one of the biggest budget unlocks in the game — if the fixtures alternate, you get near-starter output from a bench-price slot.
Best midfielder rotations at £5.0m and below
Two 5.0m midfielders, rotated on fixtures. The classic way to fund a second premium forward without carrying a dead squad slot.
Goalkeeper rotations
Two keepers, one start. Always ranked on projected clean-sheet odds — save percentage aside, a keeper’s points are a clean sheet question, so this section ignores the metric above on purpose.
Defender rotations
Two defenders from clubs whose fixtures alternate. Set the ceiling to whatever your budget actually allows.
Midfielder rotations
Cheap midfield enablers that cover each other’s bad weeks.
Forward rotations
The third-striker slot, rotated. Projected goals is usually the metric you want here.
Three-defender rotations
Three cheap defenders, two starting most weeks. Judged the same way — the best fixture in the trio each gameweek — so a trio only beats a pair when it genuinely covers a week the pair could not.
Three-midfielder rotations
The same idea in midfield, where a third body is usually a bench-fodder decision as much as a fixture one.
Projected-points rotations
The same search, scored on Rate My Team projected points instead of fixtures: per gameweek, the higher xPts of the pair. This is the version that accounts for who actually plays and who takes the set pieces — not just who the fixture list favours.

Rotate, or set and forget?
A rotation can never score worse than its best single member — it picks the better fixture every week. The question is whether the gain is worth the squad slot. Here is the size of that gain.
How a rotation is scored
Every fixture is rated on the same 0–1 favourability scale the Season Ticker uses, where higher is always better: an easier opponent on Difficulty, a higher projected clean-sheet percentage on Clean sheet odds, more projected goals on Projected goals. The colours here are the same colours there, from the same model.
For a rotation we then take, for each gameweek in the window, the best rating available across the pair — because that is the one you would actually start. The rotation score is the mean of those per-gameweek bests, shown as an index out of 100. A gameweek where every member of the rotation blanks scores 0 rather than being skipped, so a blank-heavy pair is correctly punished; a double gameweek contributes its better leg.
Scores are never summed across the pair. Two clubs with good fixtures in the same weeks are a bad rotation and this maths says so.
Legend
worst to best fixture. An opponent code in CAPITALS is a home fixture and one in lowercase is away — case is the only difference, so every cell reads the same. A hatched cell is a gameweek the whole rotation blanks. DGW marks a double. A value followed by * is estimated from Scout Elo because the model has no per-fixture projection for that game (typically a double gameweek's second leg). Good fixtures counts the gameweeks where the rotation's best rating clears 0.60 — comfortably above average, not merely playable.
