There’s nothing like some last minute tinkering on a Saturday morning, so in a semi-regular feature, lets soak up some of the morning press and attempt to crack the code behind it all.
Rafa’s making some confusing noises on the form and fitness of Torres here. The Mirror have taken the same quotes and are hinting that Torres could even be rested against Stoke. I’m not convinced but I’m certainly worried enough to ponder the captain selection for the picks this week. Young looks a good alternative option with O’Neill optimistic on his fitness.
There’s some interesting comments from Redknapp here on his tactics going into the City game. Looks like he’s set to shift to the 3-5-2 and Traore looks a candidate for a rest, although rather confusingly Harry does indicate that he won’t change personnel:
“‘I’m not going to rotate just yet, but I may play differently at Manchester City to what I played in midweek.”
Mmm…not sure what to make of that – as a Traore owner though, I’m a little worried.
Meanwhile, El Tel has given us his two penneth on the Roanaldo selection poser – his solution – bench Berbatov. In truth, that’s the option I’m backing going into Sunday’s game. There’s more on this situation here – with Ferguson hinting that he will look for a “combination” from the Tevez, Rooney, Ronaldo and Berbatov.
That’s about it for this gameweek, barring any last minute comments. With just half an hour from the FPL deadline and just over the hour before Boro kick off at Sunderland – I wish you all good luck for another fine fantasy weekend.
