After yesterday’s Premier League bonanza of eight games, today we have to settle for just a single fixture. It’s a potential cracker though, as Chelsea take on Liverpool at Stamford Bridge. The Dugout Discussion opens it’s doors for the short shift, and the team news is in…

Chelsea XI: Cech, Ivanovic, Luiz, Terry, Cole, Ramires, Mikel, Lampard, Mata, Drogba, Malouda.

Liverpool XI: Reina, Enrique, Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Lucas, Adam, Kuyt, Maxi, Bellamy, Suarez.

The headline news concerns the names that don’t appear on those team sheets. Three players that cost their respective clubs a total of over £100m in 2011 all feature on the bench. Chelsea opt for Didier Drogba over former Liverpool star Fernando Torres, and Liverpool leave out Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing in favour of Craig Bellamy and Maxi Rodriquez.

Elsewhere, David Luiz and Florent Malouda get the nod ahead of Alex and Daniel Sturridge respectively.

    I badly need Man Utd coverage. I like having Adebayor but he has been average the past few weeks and I have alot of Spurs players in my team. Think I might get in Hernandez for him as I have 2.1million spare.

      Honestly. I'd say go cheaper as that is an awkward price range. I'd suggest Klasnic or Bendtner.

      Wait and see how Ade does tomorrow. Look around for budget other than that, gives you some cash in the bank for a cold winters day. None of the others around the 9m mark look worthwhile.

    People reckon Aguero will be on the bench for Napoli? Mancini said him and Yaya were fatigued after the game and he may take a more defensive approach by playing one up top like against Villarreal to ensure they dont lose, plus Dzeko will be fresher and Mario was taken off before him?
