It’s gorgeous out, but fantasy football fiends up and down the country are retreating indoors to see West Brom take on Newcastle. The Dugout Discussion reluctantly opens it’s doors on this fine Sunday afternoon.

The team news from our only game today is in. Here is how both sides line-up…

West Brom XI: Foster; Jones, McAuley, Olsson, Ridgewell; Odemwingie, Mulumbu, Morrison, Andrews, Thomas; Fortune.

Newcastle XI:Krul; Simpson, Coloccini, Williamson, Perch; Ben Arfa, Guthrie, Cabaye, Gutierrez; Ba, Cisse.

Four changes to Roy Hodgson’s side sees Peter Odemwingie return to the fold, at the expense of Chris Brunt (who has suffered from tonsillitis this week). Also coming in is Jonas Olsson, Keith Andrews and Marc-Antoine Fortune replacing Nicky Shorey, Paul Scharner and Shane Long.

As for the visitors, Alan Pardew names an unchanged line-up from the side that beat Norwich last time out.

The Dugout Discussion will be open for the duration of the game, and can be accessed right here.

Akers Richard or Akers, as he is known, has been regularly haunting this site since July 2008. He is young and foolish, take what he says with a pinch of salt. Follow them on Twitter

As I've had a lousy week (it's a big red arrow even if I list my player scores in binary), here's a nice piece of gallows humour from another set of suffering fans.

Former East German giants 1.FC Magdeburg, who beat Milan to win the European Cup-Winners Cup back in 1974, have fallen on hard times after German reunification, slumping to last position in one of four regional fourth divisions. So in this afternoon's home match against Berliner AK, 50 home supporters decided that it was time to show their team where the goal was - literally.

Having smuggled in luminous cardboard arrows, the FCM fans positioned themselves behind one of the goals and ran around like nutcases during Magdeburg's rare attacks, desperately pointing the arrows at the opposition's net as a visual reminder of where the target was (see video below):

    http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=3516855725111

The result? Another 2-1 home defeat for Magdeburg.

Götze will start training with the team again on Monday, and Dortmund trainer Jürgen Klopp said earlier this week that he expects Götze to be fit to play around 5-6 matches in the remainder of the season. He'd certainly want him ready for what looks set to be the Bundesliga title decider between BVB and Bayern on April 11.

Good Afternoon. I would like to draw your attention to the curious case of the Cheap Awayday Midfielder, or “CAMF”, as we shall call it.

This is the virulent disease that mid - to low-priced midfielders get, sometimes called Bashful Bonus Nabbing, or Not Tonight Josephinitis, the Josephines alluded to, being the frustrated Home Supporters. CAMF.

The symptoms of CAMF have been well documented. As soon as the player gets on the Away Coach, their shyness falls away like scales from a dead fish, they start to give their Centre Forward the leery eye, they nudge their scoring Centre Back in the ribs with a wink; and when they get on the field of play they come all over with the flashy - but now suddenly accurate backheels - and start spraying around deadly crossfield balls with all the panache of a modern Charlie George.

The incredibly painful effects are well-known, and do not need detailed documentation here. Suffice to say, the prognosis is poor scores, a bench with points “hanging out the back of it”, gnashing teeth, wailing fantasy players, clumps of hair interfering with the proper function of keyboards, casual transfers often done too early, and many, many other sorts of mayhem which shall remain thankfully private.

We believe that the toxic virus CAMF is both contagious and infectious. The first known carrier is a certain Moses, but both Sigurdsson and Ben Arfa are confirmed with it, and we are sure that it will spread further.

    THERE IS NO CURE, PRESENTLY.

If your team is dependent on one of these players, the only advice that we can offer is prayer.

this in itself creates a problem as I wanted Barfa to rotate with McClean. Then again i could rotate him with that other sufferer, Sigurdsson. They are always away seperate weeks.

I can not, but given the amount of points I've had sitting on my bench recently.

Plus Barfa for Clint allows me to have Verm, Walcott and Hernandez, which will oyutscore, Dempsey, Santon and Yak IMO.

Think it's 4 pointer for me this week and next. But not taken one in a while and hits are only bad if they fail. I don't think Young and Santon to Theo and Verm will fail, nor Dempsey and Yak to Barfa and Hernandez.

The money is 3 million less and getting similar returns. Plus no one else in ML owns him, a fair few own Sess. he's a major differential that seems to be reliable to deliver (as long as Sess is playing)

      Pros and Cons
      Ben Arfa
      + Skillfull, Selfish
      - Doesn't track back enough
      - Barely plays the whole 90 mins

      Siggy
      + Technique
      + On free kicks
      - Hasn't really produced at home

      Siggy the safer option

Newcastle got liverpool Swansea (A) Bolton (ok easy one granted) Chelsea (A) then stoke.
Not the most of generous of defences usually.

Sunderland have Man City Totenham and Everton as next 3.

Kneejerkers of the world don't forget that Everton, Sunderland, Bolton, Spurs (and Man U and Fulham of course) are playing on Tuesday. I expect Spurs to rest a few but Everton and Sunderland will go all guns blazing with little else to play for so I'd give it till Tuesday before considering McClean, Jellyfish, Sess et al.

Harder to get out of the Championship than you think, isn't it? 46 games is a real killer and having to play 1/3 of your schedule in midweek too really sucks.

Still, we have no one to blame but ourselves really.

Its not over yet for the Hammers though, you still got 2 bites at the cherry. I'm afraid its pretty much all over for us though and we have no 2nd chances here.
