Sunday Dugout Discussion

Filed under: Dugout Discussion - Posted by: Akers

The Dugout Discussion opens this afternoon, hoping for a similar goal glut witnessed in yesterday’s edition. We’ve two games to pour over, with all four clubs with something to play for. Later we’ll be at White Hart Lane where Tottenham continue to chase Champions League qualification against relegation fighting Blackburn. Before that there’s a West London derby at Stamford Bridge, between Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers…

Chelsea XI: Cech, Ferreira, Bosingwa, Terry, Cole, Mata, Essien, Lampard, Sturridge, Torres, Kalou.

QPR: Kenny, Onuoha, Ferdinand, Hill, Taiwo, Mackie, Barton, Derry, Buzsaky, Cisse, Zamora.

As expected, Roberto Di Matteo has tinkered with his line-up ahead of of a huge night in Munich, but somewhat surprisingly there are still starts for the likes of Juan Mata and Frank Lampard.

The visitors name an attacking line-up, with Djibril Cisse partnering Bobby Zamora up front.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open – with moderators will be on hand to resolve any issues – and can be accessed right here.

  1. when i watch the game tomorrow, i'll be supporting city more than any other team who aren't liverpool, ever!

    getting quite excited now

    1. +1 Come on City do the scums over ! (No offence ;) )

        1. Replace scums with champions then :P

      1. my mate's a city season ticket holder, he's a bit nervous to say the least

    2. They'll probably win tomorrow and bottle it at Newcastle next week.

I hope you're crying into your tea (in shoreditch).

      1. i'm actually in hackney at the weekend to watch the final with a few mates, in a pub called the duke of wellington by haggerston overground station

pop down and i'll buy you a pint

        of water

No deal. I'm watching it at a mates house with a rabble of Utd and Arsenal fans. 1 Scouser too, there's always one special needs case.

0-8. #20 incoming. etc etc etc.

  2. you know its been a bad GW for defences when your actually happy taiwo isnt coming off bench for taylor!

  3. Why are people saying Mata is due more assists, what is the likleyhood of this happening?

    1. he could get more if he plays well against NEW.

      1. Hopefully he gets rested or sent off against Newcastle. Why are people saying he is due more assists for todays game?

        1. Debatable assist rules. But going by real life assist rules he doesn't deserve any more..

          1. What about FPL rules, is he due anymore?

            1. I didn't watch the game, I don't know, but some were claiming he could get two more, if so I think they're very debatable

            2. ive seen them given during this season, he passed to sturridge who scored after trying a pass that came back to him. and he sent torres in for 2nd, qpr defended and keeper messed up and torres notched. hope ta god he gets them but its a bit vague wat the rule is on assists.

  4. ok a question to all those with McClean and Siggy who are looking to go for one last ride on the Holy train. Which one are you selling, and why?

    1. not sure what i'm going to do.

my midfield will be Valencia, Demps, VDV, Pienaar (Siggy).

where would i fit VM in?

      1. good point. That's why I asked to those who owned McClean and Siggy, as if you both, chances are you will be forced to play 1 for those last 2 tricky fixtures, so shifting 1 is easy, it's just which one.

    2. Siggy + McClean to Nani + Moses for me!

      1. could afford that, but only if I didn't get Rooney

    3. I did own McClean and Siggy, I currently have HBA and Siggy, one of whom probably has to go, Moses or Maloney are very tempting..

  5. Glad i dont watch MOTD anymore. For the last 3 years Lineker is just encouraging fans to abuse Wenger.

    1. either that or he is encouraging Wenger not to yell at and argue with referees...

      1. Wenger is the only manager that does that?

        1. whilst doing albatross impressions, yes.

    2. He doesn't have an anti-Wenger agenda, he is complimentary when they do well, less so when they do poorly, and when Wenger makes some funny hand movements which are aped by a whole Stoke stand there's no reason why he shouldn't make a joke - he's an anchorman defusing tension.

Next you'll be saying that we shouldn't be laughing at this:

The Stoke fans were out of order booing Ramsey, but aping Wenger is just a bit of a laugh.

im going to rise to the top of my mini league this week.!!
first time of the whole season after trailing all the while ..!
really excited and the average of points gained my rivals are 20+...and im already 62 with 9 DGWS and rooney to play =D

  7. Getting Walker in for a hit - very good
Realising I mustn't have saved my sub changes - very bad

  8. The unspoken rule on hits has been updated...

    - Never take a hit for a defender... Unless they have a DGW.

    1. And if you can accurately predict which ones will score, tell the rest of us poor sods

  9. Did any one else watch the spurs game? I had bale.vdb. And walker which makes me v happy. But they should have done alot better. They should have scored 5 or 6 so i wouldnt be gettin carried away thinking they will rip bolton a new one. They should still win but id say 1 or 2 nil max if they play like that again. Blackburn hadnt one shot on goal in the whole game. They are shocking

yeah..they were wasteful...could have scored more if their finishing were way better...especially hit the post too many times..its like they have the liverpool post hitting syndrome =P

  10. What do you guys think about th BPs in the spurs game? Walker 3, Vdv 2, Bale 1?

    1. yeah probably that the way ......

  11. What should I do... either Cisse-> Jelavic (my other fowards are RVP and Aguero)

    OR

Mcclean--> Moses, bench Cisse against City and play Valencia, Bale, Dempsey, Pienaar, Moses

    ???

“I am happy with the way I’ve started, but on the other hand, I should have scored four or five more, so that’s something for me to work on.”
