City Issue Aguero Injury Update

Filed under: Injury News - Posted by: Paul

Manchester City have confirmed this afternoon that Sergio Aguero is expected to be sidelined for the next couple of Gameweeks at least. The club’s official website gave Fantasy managers a handy injury update on a trio of their stars earlier this evening, with the Aguero news the most crucial to our transfer planning:

Roberto Mancini revealed the player has undergone knee scans and has since been assessed by medical personnel. The City boss was optimistic over a quick return to action for his star forward, with a possible comeback for the Gameweek 4 trip to Stoke on the cards:

“I don’t think Sergio will be out for long and we are hoping he will be back after the international break which is obviously fantastic news for him and for us. We were very worried a couple of days ago because we feared he could be out for six months or maybe even more which would have been very bad news. It looked like a very strange injury at the time and because it was his knee, we were obviously very concerned so this news is a relief for everybody.”

The news will no doubt speed up the transfers-out over the next few days, with Carlos Tevez the obvious trade. Aguero has already been shipped out by 132, 000 Fantasy managers after he was stretchered off against the Saints on Sunday – Tevez has been acquired by more than 94,000 in anticipation of a possible absence for his compatriot and is on the verge of rising in price for the second time this week in FPL.

Mancini also revealed that Gareth Barry and Micah Richards will remain on the sidelines for the time being. Barry could well join Aguero in returning for the Stoke clash but Richards may be out for a longer period – this promotes Pablo Zabaleta in our Fantasy thinking, with the 6.0 priced Argentine’s role at right-back looking nailed-on until Richards comes back into contention:

“Gareth will also be ready after the international break. “He hasn’t played any games for almost four months and he needs to build his fitness up, but he is training again and I don’t see him being out for any longer than one month and hopefully, maybe just a couple of weeks. Micah’s injury is more serious and he could be out a little longer, but having said that, with rest and the right treatment, we are hopeful he could be ready in about one month, which again would be great news.”

It seems to me, looking at my ML, is that Lamps/Mata/Haz is where the action is. What will the ranking of scores be.

    I am going.

    Haz 10

    Mata 7

    Lamps 4

          Mohit Gianani says:

EXACTLY! I have Cole and my nearest mini-league rival has Ivanovic. It’s quite ridiculous. What’s worse? When Ivanovic scored, he could have given the ball to Torres to score instead of being selfish. (Torres is my captain, BTW).
Also the keeper could have done much, much better. Getting beaten by a right back at your near post isn’t the best goal keeping, one might say.

Gigging Order- Футбольный клуб «Зенит» says:

“You fear the unexpected and so you want to know you’ve got all the information available to pick the best possible team.” Last season when there was talk of Rooney missing a match because of the birth of his child, Sutherns was sent into a tailspin. “I found myself determined never to let this happen to me again,” he says. “So I began to research all the WAGs who were pregnant just so I could calculate when their partners were most likely to miss a match for the birth.”

Mark, you are a legend, a slightly odd legend, but a legend none the less…. :-)

actually, TV rights are crazy full stop – the sooner advertisers learn to create a global licence and let everyone watch the content the better, otherwise everyone wil just stream it and be annoyed their £50 a month subscription isn’t showing it…madness

    QPR expects...Taarabt to shine says:

Did Aguero > Tevez early to catch both price changes but wondering whether to do another one.

Team is linked. Disastrous start. 29 pts with Ramires and Gorkks to come. Trust me, it looked better pre- 3pm on Saturday!

In truth two managerial errors – call it heart ruling head – meant 22 good pts have been on the bench. A score in the 50′s would have been very satisfactory heading into tonight

Your help please fellow FFS members. Does anything need strengthening enough to take a 4 pt hit?

I have £8m in the bank!! That’s £5.5m earmarked as ‘RVP money’ + £1m extra in bank to start season + £2.5m pocketed on Aguero > Tevez

Was originally planning Podolski > RVP as my transfer for UTD coverage but don’t really like either his or Rooney’s individual form or link-up play right now so switched out Aguero as my priority.

    What do you think?

“I am happy with the way I’ve started, but on the other hand, I should have scored four or five more, so that’s something for me to work on.”
