City suffer more anxiety attacks but, again, overcome QPR to earn the three points with some familiar names again amongst the returns. Here’s the stock check from the day’s final encounter…

On the Up

Carlos Tevez
The overwhelming captaincy favourite this weekend, he didn’t let us down. Tevez played a part in all his side’s three goals – providing assists for the first two before grabbing the third, he currently sits on 24 FPL points pre-bonus, with the maximum looking likely. Those who opted for the Van Persie option will now have a uncomfortable 90 minutes ahead of them.

Yaya Toure
Once again, the Ivorian delivered for his Fantasy owners. Toure’s opener against QPR means he has produced attacking returns in all three of City’s games so far; cheaper than the likes of Samir Nasri and David Silva across the Fantasy games, he is proving to be the main contender from Mancini’s midfield and can expect plenty of suitors over the international break.

Edin Dzeko
The Bosnian striker has his doubters but, once again, he cropped up with a vital goal. While Tevez is overwhelming the strongest attacking option in the City lineup, Dzeko now appears to be in the box seat for starts alongside him; particularly now that Mario Balotelli is facing a month out due to an eye operation.

Going Down

The City Defence
Three games, no clean sheets. It’s a bit of a worry for owners of Vincent Kompany and Joe Hart – both are priced highly across the Fantasy games due to their near guaranteed selection but with City continuing to leak goals at the back, the pair could well be shed from squads as we reassess our line-ups. Rotation is a constant worry – just ask Gael Clichy owners – while Pablo Zabaleta was withdrawn with a “slight” hamstring twinge.

Djibril Cisse
Dropped to the bench to make way for a change in shape, Cisse, along with Adel Taarabt, Junior Hoilett and Bobby Zamora, looks far from secure as Hughes shuffles his attacking options match to match.

  2. Did my first -4 hit if season!

    New team to catch the intl price rises

    De gea fed
    Cole zab hang demel clyne
    Val haz michu dyer guithre
    Rvp tev grahem.

    Have a good team there for gw4 and then its zab or grahem out for whoever.

    Wildcard still intact

  3. hey guys looking for some help... is it time to wc this team...

    hart/cerny
    clichy/colichinni/simpson/clyne/a cole
    kagawa/michu/allen/fellini/guthrie
    tevez/rvp/ba

    cheers!

    1. I'd be concerned about Cerny, Clichy, Allen - If you can negotiate your way around that then you're OK.

      Hart and Cole are solid but expensive, especially with Chelsea's tricky fixtures/lack of clean sheets.

      Newcastle have good fixtures and Clyne is cheap and getting games.

      Kagawa, Michu, Fellaini, Guthrie, front three all fine.

  4. Really can't bring myself to bring Hazard in at this point whilst he still has two fixtures to get through.

    The move would be Bale -> Hazard.

    Instead looking at Zab -> McAuley for WBA's decent start and run of fixtures.

    City don't look to have sorted things out at the back just yet and there's talk of a niggly Zab injury but that shouldn't really go beyond int'l games.

  5. Charlie Adam will become a fantasy machine now.
    Stokes fixtures are awesome from wk9.

    Ideal Michu replacement.

    1. A great shout. Michu run won't go on forever (will it?!)

      Swansea's trip to City might be perfect spot to switch for Stoke's game at home to Sun'lan.

      1. it will not go on forever.
        as has been noted already, he has had something like 6 shots and scored 4 goals

        im not complaining though!

        just planning ahead

  6. Team

    DDG Cerny
    Baines Williams Stuellar Demel
    Haz Kagawa BArfa Michu Kac
    RVP Tevez Petric
    No cash or FT left.

    Transfer Plans for:
    GW5: Kagawa --> Nolan +2.4
    Gw6: Kac --> Guthrie/Sterling +0.2
    GW7: Nothing
    GW8: Williams --> Kosh -0.3
    GW9: Michu --> Adam +0.8, Nolan --> Cazorla -3.0

    1. I like your planning but I tried something similar before gameweek 1. I even set an iPhone reminder for 1st Sept 9am.

      Yesterday morning I got woken up with a reminder telling me to swap Torres & Lampard for Rooney & Scott Sinclair!

      Morale the story, FPL finds a way to screw up even the best made plans!

      1. my plans change daily.
        my strategy remains pretty constant.

        changing strategy costs a lot of hits

        1. FPL is just an optimisation exercise with the information you have and a bit of luck with the inforamtion you dont have

    1. Using your WC to swop out your fourth and fifth defenders seems like a waste. Who are you losing in MID for Haz?

      1. that team is quite solid already

        take a few hits over the next few weeks

  9. from Arseblog:

    In terms of the team it seems that Wojciech Szczesny is out so Vito Mannone will continue to deputise. The manager has a decision to make in terms of his centre-half pairing now that Laurent Koscielny is back but if it were me I’d leave it the way it is. Vermaelen and Mertesacker have been solid in the first two games, two clean sheets and all that, and I don’t think it makes much sense to change it. There’s a lot of football left to play this season and Koscielny will get his chance soon enough.

    Hope so, so Kosh gets even cheaper.

    He could be 5.1-5.2 player by the time arsenals decent fixtures come around

    1. Just caught Al-Habsi's save vs Stoke. Take a bow, son!
