There’s no change at the top in the US and there’s no movement in our Sky Sports Scout League, either. Which of those two scenarios will have the biggest impact on our world? That’s probably down to how Chris Tuck will spend his £25k if he wins the top prize. I’m hoping for a box of “Krispy Kremes” at least. Here’s this week’s look at our Sky Sports standings, the latest transfer trends and a look forward to tonight’s Fantasy Football Club…
The Scout League
Mr Tuck’s “Vuvuzela Symphony” continues to hit the high notes as he maintains his lead on top of the Scout League, although the gap has been closed. Charles Mouzon’s “Geordie Boys” were 22 points behind but halved the deficit last weekend. Gary Paterson’s “Pack Leaders” are also breathing down Tuck’s neck, some 17 points behind.
Our top trio are all in the top 20 Sky Sports managers, with Chris trailing the overall leader by 27 points, having suffered an average Gameweek by his high standards. With Paul Hennessy and Jonathan Lenharth also riding high, we have five managers in the overall top 22 vying for the winner’s prize of £25k. Bring it home boys!
It’s not surprising, then, that the community remain on top of the League rankings – with a 14 point lead out on top thanks to a strong top five average of 622.8.
A reminder that if you’re playing the Sky Sports game and have yet to join our league, you can sign up to the FFScout League with this Pin: 8004519. We have a home cinema system, worth £600, available to the winner.
Market Forces
Robin Van Persie remains the most coveted transfer target this week as his consistency makes the armband selection in this game just as straightforward as it is in the Fantasy Premier League. The Dutch game-breaker was part of almost 30% of the transfers made this week, as latecomers switched over to the United man in their attacks. Liverpool’s Louis Suarez appears to be the other striker in vogue – 22% of the transfers made this week involved the Uruguayan, with Everton’s Marouane Fellaini playing second fiddle to the two front men; the Belgian has been party to by 19% of transfers in this week.
Swansea’s Michel Vorm has been shed by the thousands following his groin injury and tops the transfers out rankings. Folk appear to be waking up to the fact that Carl Jenkinson can no longer offer the strong value of the opening 10 weeks now that Bacary Sagna has returned to fitness. Jenkinson’s huge ownership took a dent this week with over 13% of transfers out involving the Gunners full-back. Fernando Torres and Demba Ba also suffered losses. Over 10% of transfers out, presumably with Suarez and Van Persie coming in, saw Ba dumped. With news today that the Senegal striker looks fit to take on West Ham, you have to wonder if there will be a good few regretting that move come this weekend.
The Fantasy Football Club
Jamie O’Hara, perhaps better known in certain quarters as Mr Danielle Lloyd but known around these parts as the bloke who should have scored more points for Wolves last season, is in Fantasy Football Club studios this week. He’s joined by rapper “Example” apparently. No, me neither – #gettingold. Crash the fun with Fenners and Merse at 10pm on Sky Sports one tonight.
