The Weekend Team News

Alan Pardew reveals Demba Ba’s shin injury “looks fine” ahead of Sunday’s clash with former club West Ham. Nani is ruled out for the next 10 days for United, while Jonny Evans remains a doubt for tomorrow’s trip to Villa Park.

Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed John Terry is in a “good position” to be involved for Sunday’s game with Liverpool, though the clash is “probably too soon” for Ashley Cole.

David Platt took over press conference duties for City today and revealed David Silva, Joleon Lescott and Maicon are “all available for selection at this moment in time” ahead of Spurs’ visit on Sunday.

James Collins and James Tomkins face fitness tests for the Hammers, though Guy Demel will return to the squad, according to Sam Allardyce.

All today’s news has been collected and rolled out along with our predicted lineups, over in the team news section.

We’ll continue the updates up until the eleventh hour, with tomorrow’s Pre-Match preamble offering the teamsheet views from the press.

Baird is currently OOP and more flair, but could get dropped at any time. Hughes the steady eddie alternative.

Do you wanna have to do another trannie to remedy one, the other you can leave till the Jan WC.

Any last minute tips for my team please lads?

    ------------------- Jussi -------------------
    ----- Baines -- Riise -- Cameron ------
    --- Mata - Cazorla - Nolan - Bale ---
    ------ Berbatov -- Tevez -- RVP ------

    SUBS: McCarthy, Gorkss, Sterling, Demel.

I feel like I really need Valencia in there, so tempted to transfer Bale out for him. Riise is also looking like a bit of a weak link in my squad but not sure if Sagna's next 2 fixtures are good enough to warrant getting him in yet.

    Cheers.

The question is, do I think Valencia will outscore him over the next 4-5 gameweeks?

I think he will. We shall see anyway!

Gorkss over Riise. Sagna has a good assist potential.

That sounds crazy, Riise has 4 assists for far this season with 1 against a big team like Man City, so he can do that against Arsenal. Also, Sagna gets like 2 assists a year.

I have a captain dilemma, guys. May I ask for a little help, before I go entertain this evening?

    Begovic

    Cuellar, Rafael, Shawcross

    Hazard, Fellaini, Michu, Mata

    Suarez, Jelavic, Tevez

    Subs: Schwarzer, Sterling, Demel, Hangeland

Tevez would make a good captain I think, 2nd choice Michu, 3rd choice Mata.

Thanks, I currently have it on Tevez, and vc on Fellaini. It's tough for me this week, as no one really stands out in my squad.

If you have RVP and Baines, I would have suggested any one of them. Since you don't have and out of that lot, I'd go with Fellaini. I fancy Mata to score or assist either one. 🙂

Despite the heavy hitters in my team I really don't have much confidence in the team this week, maybe it's last weeks failure that did it.

    How does this look?

    Begovic
    Rafael . Cameron . Nelson
    Mata . Bale . Cazorla . Pienaar
    RVP (c) . Tevez . Defoe

Sub: Jaaskelainen . Cuellar . Sterling . Baird

A pretty good team if you ask me, not too sure about Defoe in the long run though. Big points for Rafa, Mata, RVP and Tevez this week I'm predicting.

Should do you well this week. (p.s answer my similar question above 😉 )

If anyone can be bothered is it worth a hit to change this:

    Bego (Vorm)
    Raf/Baines/McAuley(Giibs/O'Brein)
    Bale/Fellani/HBA/Sterling (Guthrie)
    RVP/Brbs/Jelavic

I should have done that a few weeks ago but I think Aguero might be getting more time soon so I'd rather make no change or get someone who is nailed on until Mancini sorts this out... I think I just answered my own question though - might as well give kun another shot

I'm waiting to see what happens this weekend with Augero, if all looks right I'm bringing him to partner RVP and Ba and replace Defoe who's another I need to keep an eye on, he was as good as gone then goes an scores a hatrick with the new setup so I'll be watchin closely this week as if I do it it means I would lose Ivan for a lesser defender although I could rotate.
