The ScoutCast – Episode Ninety Two – Double Top

While I was “driving home for Christmas”, Granville was recovering from a breathless double Gameweek that left him just above the average; his humble target achieved, he’s now got to patch up his injury ravaged squad and contend with all my crazy Wildcard talk.

Wayne Rooney’s form is the catalyst for such a revolution in my squad, as we discuss the benefits of doubling up on the United men up top. There’s the usual foray into the transfer market with “all board”, the preview of the weekend fixtures and the latest attempt to revive the corpse of the ScoutCatst team: Granville is the surgeon this week and he’s spending some points.

Put all your eggs in our United basket by clicking this link or, alternatively, stream the liquid honey via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

What do people think of Brunt for the next few weeks? With Morrison not in the hole is he the better option?

Brunt is a great option IMO, its just he won't play every game with Mulumbu and Gera both fit. Especially with the rotation over the Christmas. A risk that could pay off.

I wouldn't. He is one of those players who gets a good score every year but never seems to do it when he is in your team.

If Jacob if back Morrison WILL be in the hole.
Its no coincidence that their drop in form has coincided with Morrison dropping deep

Somebody help me with my team please… It’s looking in pretty terrible shape for this week but I don’t know what to do and how many hits to take to fix it..

    Begovic
    ?Enrique? Nelsen Gibbs *Cuellar*
    ?Sterling? Silva Fellaini
    RVP Suarez Giroud

    !Gazzaniga! !Clyne! !Puncheon! !Mata!

    1FT and 1.3 in the bank…

So I have my whole bench with no fixture, Enrique and Sterling doubts and I also desperately want rid of Cuellar. What would you guys do!?

Exactly what I've done. Foster will play for the full match (barring further traumas) or not at all. It's not ideal having two Stoke defenders (almost certainly) playing when Mr. Fellaini is lining up against them - soI'm especially keen to see Foster back.

Have being thinking about doing Begovic -> De Gea all week. Just seen this opta stat "Sunderland have failed to score in nine of their last 11 Premier League games against Manchester United including the last five in a row.".

if you look at the past fixtures SAF has being giving his keepers runs in the team rather that swapping every game. With injurys clearing up, good fixtures and Jussi as cover i think its worth a punt.

go with your gut, but begovic fixtures dont scare me: home games against EVE, LIV, SOU, CHE, WIG, RDG in next 10. away games @ tot, mcy, swa, ars.

clean sheet possibility in every homegame, tough away fix but im still gonna play him in every one of them (for example, arse can always draw a blank).

meanwhile, de gea can continue his 1 cs in 8 games record for a while and be dropped at some point and then youre gonnna have to spend a transfer on him again. and you may want begovic back at some point, with higher price.

Cheeky punt for Young or Valencia for the next five gameweeks if Bale's unfit? I have both Rooney and RVP but trebling of United attack doesn't scare me. Of course there's a big rotation risk for both but have this feeling they'll come good with those fixtures. Fellaini isn't an option, all my rivals have him so I need a differential.

Planning to do next three GW's:

    Sess>Young/Tony
    Johnson>Bale
    Santon>A.Hughes

    Any comments or suggestions?

Theo will be dropping again tonight and is still a doubt for the game, however has great fixtures and could explode! I have no City coverage so the only reason im thinking about Silva, but would prefer to have Mata and Bale

    A) Theo>Silva
    B) Sess>Silva
    C) Theo>Bale
    D) Sess>Bale
    E) Save Transfer (Then do Theo+Sess>Bale+Mata next week)

Mark, one piece of advice, I´m playing my wildcard and I´m finding it dificult to ignore that I want Chelsea cover for the remaining fixtures till winter WC and yet it feels stupid to put one now, which means that I have to have transfers already planned for next GW and we all know what that could lead us to...other pressing transfers. One other thing that´s troubling me atm, is the fact that I have to get Bale which means I could go with an unfit player also. Either way I had to do it because my team was a real mess, but like you said, I think I´ll have advantage for the next 5 fixtures as ManU, Mcy, Tot and Liv all have great fixtures.

1ft and I’m a bit short on numbers this week! If Enrique doesn’t look like he’s gonna make it then I’ll transfer out Gorkks for someone, I have 2.8 in the bank but don’t really want to bring in someone over 4.5 – certainly not over 5.0. Any suggestions with good short term fixtures?
