Back for 2013, fully refreshed, slightly rusty and balancing the same chips on our shoulders, Granville are I make a return to the podcast studio.

The New Year presents my beleaguered co-host with a 51-point gap to bridge as I spent Christmas “ho-ho-ing” about three midfield hat-tricks, leaving Granville to roll out one mighty miffed in this week’s episode.

Elsewhere, we pick at the double Gameweek buffet, eagerly scoffing on the Chelsea canapés whilst wondering if Rafa has hidden something nasty in the vol-a-vents. We rinse that down with the latest transfers in and out in “all aboard”, preview all the weekend fixtures and carry out the latest emergency surgery on the ailing ScoutCast team.

Can I call the United vs Liverpool game is Derby of England?

    1. Manu vs Mancity

      1. City dont have enough tropy to be a candidate for Derby of England

    2. I am a United Fan and i would class United v Liverpool the biggest derby!!!

    3. As a Liverpool fan UTD's the main one I look out for at the start of the season.

  2. This is frustating

    Bench Punch Walcott or Michu

Punch is the weakest but DGW
Walcott simply because Arsenal always do well vs City at Emriates and he's playing up top
Michu has a tougher fixture as Swans never score vs Everton but they are likely to score 1 goal and Michu gotta be in it.

    1. Michu i would

      1. Same dilema, benching Michu... cue many goals.

  3. Anyone care to take a qualified guess on the % for these playing both games?

    Azpilicueta
    Lambert
    Luiz
    Ba

    1. *starting

      1. 60
        90
        80
        35

    2. 25
      90
      85
If he scores and plays well v Stoke - 95%
If he doesn't score or play well - 5%

  4. Puncheon is causing me a real headache means benching Walcott, anyone else doing the same?

    1. glad i aint got that dilemma now thanks to my pal Pogrenyak lol

      1. puncheon will get 2pts against chelsea.

so essentially its puncheon vs villa and 2pts vs walcott.

id be tempted to go walcott

        1. I am but feel a fool not playing a dgw player, when am I ever gonna play him!

          1. theres no easy answer really. its 50 50. walcott will probably score max one goal as city will be water tight at the back.

if puncheon plays he gets at least 4pts plus whatever damage he might do.

so safest option is going puncheon as at least he banks 4pts for u

            1. you are making alot of sense this morning, I think I need some caffeine :-)

              1. its cheeky bum time. i was thinking overtime last night in bed lol before i went sleep.

what do you do work wise mate??

                1. I own a small chain of shoe shops in London. You?

                  1. got my own online business for last 3 yrs. import from china and sell on ebay/amazon and my own website.

sell safety boots/shoes too. you should sell your stuff online too if your not already. makes a massive difference to your sales with little extra cost

                  2. I import from China too, but ladies fashion footwear. I am building a website this year. Whats the website?

              2. yea and then u find Walcot gets a goal and an assist :D

                1. probably.

      2. ha ha ha hes a great pick for that reason!

    2. It's even worse for me. I must bench one from Puncheon, Walcott, Silva

      1. bench silva

      2. who are you playing at the back ahead of any of them?

        1. Gibbs Demel Davies (or Luiz)

          1. sorry I miss read your post, gonna have to be Silva.

    3. i got the same problem so i decided to swap Punchy > Nolan and save him for the next Double and hope Punchy fail :D

      1. I have thought about that but I need the spare cash elsewhere in my team.

        1. get cash from ur Def ,, or Noble,Cole are good alternatives though

          1. noble could work out actually thanks, just didnt ever wanted to see him back in my team.

    4. That is why i have opted to ignore the Power 5 midfield, as you will always have the dilemma of either dropping 1 of them or playing them all every week and not having any differential.

      1. well you would choose a bench fodder forward in those circumstances and expect not to really play him unless he had DGW, which Puncheon does.

  5. Think I've decided on a final team for after the 2 DGWs are done:

    Cech | Cerny
    Zabaleta | Gibbs | Rafael | Demel | Harte
    Mata | Walcott | Michu | Fellaini | Hernandez
    RVP | Suarez | Ruiz

Cech's expensive yes but offers a safe route into the Chelsea defense.

    1. Cech is injured no?

      1. lacks a Welsh Left Winger

    2. Bale bale bale

  6. i dont get it how u peeps can play Punchy and Bench guys like Silva Walcot Michu ,,, i mean even if he's playing triple

    1. my Midfield this week

Bale Mata Walcott Puncheon Silva (or Fellaini, still dont use FT this week)

      1. If I keep Silva, I must bench one from Pun, Silva, Walcott
      2. If I bring in Fellaini, I will play him, then bench one out of Pun or Walcott.

      any thought?

      1. u r in a tough position !

      2. its close but if it was my team i would bench Punchy ,, plus i would get fella but heard rumors he's leaving Everton so i'd wait to see things clear

        1. But Fellaini got 1 goal 1 assist at Liberty, I'm afraid of he will destroy Swansea this week again

          1. me myself i like Afroman i got him in ma team from Week 1 ,, what about swapin Silva > Fella and Punchy > Nolan / Noble ?

            1. I only have 1 FT, my midfield is fine this week so i dont bring in Nolan fore more headache.

Anyway see you later in new post: http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2013/01/11/scout-scribbles-giroud-worry-for-gunners/

      3. i would bench Walcot if he's playing on the Wing but after Giroud having troubles i guess he's playing upfront so more likely the chances he scores

  7. Finally finalized my team:

    Begovic (Jaas)
    Gibbs Luiz Baines (Turner Demel)
    Walcott Michu Fellaini Mata (Snodgrass)
    Ba Berbatov RVP

    Who to captain?

  8. Get your GW22 picks out! Im curious!

  9. My Midfield: Bale Mata Michu Walcott Sterling. Should I get in Fellaini for some of them ...?

  10. Azpilicueta or Cahill?

  11. WC Team:

    Jussi & Begovic
    Demel Cameron Boyce Harte Garrido
    Michu Mata Fellaini Walcott Sterling
    Benteke Ba RVP

    Thoughts? :D

    1. Ditch Benteke for Ruiz or Henriquez and improve defence

  12. Azpi or cahill and gibbs

    OR

    Luiz and sagna

    HELP PLEASEEEEEEE

  13. Terry on, Luiz or Ivanovic off please!

    1. hehe, and Torres on for Ba.

  14. Luiz and Ba -> Sagna and Suarez (-4)

    Yay/nay

    1. Would say yay, although haven't decided myself yet to go Ba to Suarez or Podokski for free for next GW. Awaiting to see Sturrige first, might get him in for Ba or Berba if he seems nailed on in the middle.

“I am happy with the way I’ve started, but on the other hand, I should have scored four or five more, so that’s something for me to work on.”
