Monday Dugout Discussion

Filed under: Dugout Discussion - Posted by: Mark

Anfield under lights has brought us many an historic night of football – can it deliver similar events for Fantasy managers as Gameweek 26 rolls on?

One thing is certain, already the teamsheets have sent shockwaves throughout the Fantasy fraternity: Daniel Sturridge’s “slight” thigh injury keeps him out of tonight’s clash with West Brom, the first of Liverpool’s two fixtures in the Gameweek. The implications of that news, together with real-time chatter as the match progress can now take place in our Dugout Discussion chatroom.

Jonjo Shelvey is drafted in to replace the stricken Sturridge who failed today’s fitness test; Luis Suarez will presumably come in from his role on the flank to lead the attack. Elsewhere, Philippe Coutinho makes the bench for Brendan Rodgers’ side. Steve Clarke makes two changes to his West Brom outfit: Liam Ridgewell comes in to replace the suspended Goran Popov at left-back, while Youssouff Mulumbu makes a return to the starting lineup with Romelu Lukaku dropping to the bench. It’s a 4-3-2-1 from the Baggies, then.

I’m disappointed only adding 2 points from 3 liverpool players but then again they still have one game to redeem themselves. Last dgw I was having a shocker until arsenal went on the rampage in second game. Roll on sturridge, Gerrard and Suarez goals and assists against a Swansea team trying not to get injured with one eye on the cup final. I’m convinced (or deluded)

“I love to attack and I love to go up front...It is a little more difficult than when you are playing centre-back. If you play the way that I want to play, I think my influence is better as a left-back. For the team, it is best that I play as a centre-back. I like to bring the ball out. You need to move the game quickly, and that is one of my qualities as well.”
