The Numbers Game – The Bale Force

Filed under: Members - Posted by: Paul

In our second article for Members this week, we take a look at those players who have offered the greatest goal threat over the last four Gameweeks. Analysing the key attacking statistics, we run the rule over the key contenders, with the players listed in order of total attempts and, perhaps not surprisingly, the article serves as a distinct nod to a particular Welshman.

Jonty! Well I’ve had a great rank throughout the season, though I still feel I could have done a whole lot better still. Looking to emailing you at around GW31 or 32, when I’ll know if my plan to transfer RVP out worked or not. Hope I make it to the scoutcast. You can rip it apart all you want. :)

El Berbossa - RMT SPECIALIST says:

    I dont understand the argument.

Lets a team does nto have RVP, the alternative is Rooney. Who they obviously have faith and indeed will score just as high as RVP. Yet getting both is not also reccommended.

I have already gone for both. They both averaged 7 points each per game when playing together, That is ridiculous.

If you have the chance to get two players even though they may be in the same team and are as high scoring as RVP + Rooney. Why would you not get both.

Anyhow thats what i have done.

Sure they will be rested on 1 or 2 occasions but so will aguero/dzeko.

I can safely play united players til the end of the season and not look back. Their form and goal scoring is incredible and is somewhat imbalancing FPL

I agree in a way which is why I had Suarez and Sturridge together. The problem is that if the team has a bad day you’re looking at 2 expensive players on 2′s. The good thing for you is that Man UTD don’t have too many off days.

      Dino says:

The theory is related to value i.e. ppm. Having rooney if he is not going to be a capt option does not make sense as you will never get double his points (which is the only way having rvp comes close to making sense). If you add rooney and the cheapest player in your starting 11′s value together and predict their points from now to the end of the season and then get a cheaper player than rooney and a more expensive option than your cheap player and work out their points the second option will win if you know your .pl.

Tough one really. I didn’t want to get Sturridge out but felt I had to to field 11. Only do it if you’re doing a free transfer. If you’re spending 4 points it’s not worth it.
