The season is drawing in and Chris Pearce is running out of Gameweeks if he’s going to haul in the leader and claim the £25k top prize. We check on his progress in the Sky Sports Scout league, whilst scanning the transfer trends and looking ahead to tonight’s installment of the Fantasy Football Club.

The Scout League

Chris’ campaign to grab the Sky Sports trophy made little progress last week as he clawed back just a single point in his chase for top spot. He remains 21 points behind the overall leader, Simon Ward, with just a handful of Gameweeks remaining.

Chris’ grip on the Scout League remains firm enough, however, with his “UtakaDefoeKingPearce” lineup holding a 46 point lead over Paul McAnulty’s “Housewives Favourite” squad: Paul claimed back six points back this week.

Pascal Evans’ “Covport” remain in third spot on 2099. Neil Fleeson’s “Roumeli Rangers” holds in fourth with Pascal’s second “Covport” lineup holding in fifth despite the claims of Chris Tuck’s “Vuvuzela Symphony”, which is still in the frame for a top five finish.

Fantasy Football Scout currently have seven members of our league in the top twenty, ensuring that we’ve remain top of the Private League rankings with a 34 point lead.

It’s not too late to join our ranks: you can still sign up to the FFScout League with this Pin: 8004519.

Market Trends

The transfer activity over the past fortnight has been pretty consistent. Just as we saw last week, Gareth Bale remained the top target over the past seven days, again attracting interest which saw him transferred in as part of 10% of the deals done.

With over 43% of transfers made involving a Luis Suarez exit, the quest for his replacement appears to have seen a spread of interest across the strikers, with perhaps a change in formation, with Bale brought in the most popular route. Bale’s double Gameweek appeal played its part and, with that in mind, Carlos Tevez also maintained a strong increase in ownership with over 8% of transfers made featuring the Argentine’s arrival.

Christian Benteke’s devastating Monday night hat-trick saw him fetch 22 points and has led to an inevitable increase in interest – he featured in our top five last week and ranks third this time around with almost 6% of trades featuring the Belgian’s acquisition. With Daniel Sturridge and Robin Van Persie also continuing to attract interest, the fallout from Suarez’s suspension rolls on.

The Fantasy Football Club – Tonight 10pm

There’s a spread of sports represented in this week’s episode of the Fantasy Football Club, with World super-middleweight champion Carl Froch and former England cricket captain, Michael Vaughan, chipping in. Ex-Villa midfielder, Lee Hendrie, also joins Fenners and Merse in the studio from 10pm tonight on Sky Sports one. If you miss out, you can catch the repeat on Sky Sports two at 9am.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
