Dugout Discussion

The Dugout Discussion – Monday

We’ve the small matter of a Monday evening showdown at the Etihad to contend with before the Gameweek comes to its conclusion. Manuel Pellegrini will be looking to get one over Jose Mourinho as City seek the win that will fire them back to the summit, whilst Chelsea will be hoping to put the brakes on their hosts’ blistering attack.

City must do so without the talents of Sergio Aguero up top after the Argentine was ruled out with a hamstring injury last week. Pellegrini makes three changes to the side that hammered Spurs last time around – Matija Nastasic, Aleksandar Kolarov and Alvaro Negredo come in for Fernandinho, Gael Clichy and Aguero, with Martin Demichelis moving into central midfield to cover in the Brazilian’s absence.

Mourinho makes a couple of alterations to his XI, with Nemanja Matic and David Luiz replacing John Obi Mikel and Oscar.

As always, we’ve opened up our Dugout Discussion chatroom to cater for your real-time needs.

    Kolarov bashing...pleazzz

Kol played very well. EASY 2 potential assists missed by others. nonstop on the left wing. he does play def too, ok clichy could be better at defending but kolarov offensive talent more than offsets his defensive side. + you can have one of the def mids cover him when kol gos up. Kol should and deserves to start ag nor away, as he always did on away gws. pathetic if he does not.

I agree. I would have played Clichy today, but Kolarov did play well.

Had Azpi, Haz, Silva and Kolarov playing today. Only one delivered but i think they all played really well and shower signs of points to come.

Well I was all set to do Ozil ---> Silva or Yaya

Now I'm wondering if there is a better option outside the City team.

Is the 4-3-3 back? Aguero out injured means there's money to spend elsewhere unless you want RVP. Ozil's dip in form has reduced the number of premium mids we need. As the season wears on, premium defences tighten up with the stakes higher than ever...
