Liverpool return to the summit courtesy of a pair of converted spot-kicks from skipper Steven Gerrard. Fellow Merseysiders Everton ease past Arsenal at Goodison Park, with Romelu Lukaku racking up a goal and assist as the Toffees register a sixth successive win ahead of their double Gameweek 34:

Gerrard Keeps Cool to Fire Liverpool Top
Once again, Steven Gerrard was Liverpool’s hero, twice keeping his composure to fire the Reds in front from the spot against a resilient West Ham and take his side back to the Premier League summit. The 9.4-priced midfielder ruthlessly punished the near 10,000 Fantasy managers who’d shipped him out ahead of the game, reaffirming his premium price tag with a 15 point-haul and taking his tally to 175 points, just five fewer than team-mate Daniel Sturridge. The Liverpool skipper also managed to steer clear of the referee’s wrath, ensuring his nine yellow cards didn’t affect his availability for the crucial title showdown with City at Anfield next Sunday – if he fails to pick up a yellow card in that one, he will avoid an automatic two-match ban.

Sturridge’s Patchy Form Continues
With Chelsea also on the agenda in their next three, those who have loaded up on the likes of Gerrard and Sturridge along with Luis Suarez may be more tempted to part company with the former Chelsea man after yesterday’s match. His blank means he has now scored just twice in the last six – he had previously produced nine goals from seven games upon his return from injury. Currently sitting in 34% of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) teams, Sturridge has started to see significant sales since yesterday, with 16,000 already selling him on ahead of the City showdown – with cheaper in-form options like Romelu Lukaku and Edin Dzeko handed a pair of fixtures apiece, the exodus could be set to pick up pace before the week is out as he quickly goes from essential to expendable in the eyes of many Fantasy managers.

Lukaku Stakes Claim for Double Gameweek Captaincy
A blank at Craven Cottage in the previous Gameweek had again raised question marks over Romelu Lukaku’s consistency, but the Belgian blew away clouds of doubt with a 12-point haul at the expense of Everton’s closest rivals in the race for fourth, Arsenal. The impressive performance – despite being fielded wide right – included a goal, an assist and maximum bonus points for the second time in three games. This takes his tally to four goals, two assists and eight bonus points in six appearances since recovering from an ankle problem in Gameweek 28 and, with Sergio Aguero returning from injury to shake up the City frontline ahead of the double Gameweek, Lukaku may have just made himself favourite for the armband as the most secure route into a side that have now scored three times in each of their last four matches.

Barkley Fit to Profit From Early Osman Injury
With the game at Goodison less than 10 minutes old, a head injury forced Leon Osman to take an early bath as Ross Barkley deputised from the bench. Barkley, an injury doubt himself before the game, picked up just three FPL points – despite heavy involvement – but the appearance of Everton’s young attacking midfielder alone will be enough to make a mark on Fantasy managers’ shopping list. Priced at just 5.2, Barkley could offer strapped-for-cash managers a route into the Toffees’ attack ahead of their bumper Gameweek 34 schedule, though there’s no doubt that, as Roberto Martinez’ recent rotation policy has shown, game time for any of Everton’s attacking midfielders is far from guaranteed.

Stones Looking Settled at the Back

Clean sheets have come at a premium for Everton this season. Roberto Martinez’s adventurous approach has drawn plaudits, but with three shut-outs in their previous 17 Premier League fixtures, the odds were against the Toffees keeping Arsenal at bay. With John Stones deputising for hamstrung England international Phil Jagielka at the heart of defence once again, Everton took their tally of clean sheets to three in the six games he has played. Coming in at just 4.1 in FPL, Stones (who has earned three bonus points over that run) arrives on Fantasy radars ahead of the double against Sunderland and Crystal Palace – Martinez remains cautious with Jagielka, saying it would be “a fatal gamble†to rush him back, but there’s no doubt picking either at this point still looks a punt, with the security of Seamus Coleman, Leighton Baines and the mid-price Sylvain Distin seeming safer options.

Arsenal Boosted by Ramsey’s Return
Defeat at Everton saw Arsenal surrender another three points to their rivals in the race for fourth. A place in next season’s Champions League is now looking at serious risk, and with the Gunners winning just two of their last nine games, form is hardly on their side right now. Fortunately for Arsene Wenger, the fixture list now smiles kindly on his team (WHM, hul, NEW, WBA, nor), and with Aaron Ramsey cementing his recovery from injury by climbing off the bench at Goodison, Fantasy managers will be eyeing up the Welshman for the run-in. Now down to 6.9 in FPL, Ramsey’s return could re-invigorate a Gunners side with everything still to play for as they look to clinch that fourth spot once again.

It would be a fitting tribute to this season if Yaya and Gerrard both get two penalties. Yaya's in the 60-90th minute obviously after Aguero has left the field.

Hope he starts, the only way I could be knocked out of the members cup were is he was not to play and Bardsley gets more than 5 points.
Don't see him as a striker though, and I don't think he'll score points in that role. Much better in the hole or on the wing.

Dont see why you need chambers, SOU dont have great game. Waste of a transfers in my eyes unless you bring in a SUN or Palace defender.

      Nasri good pick imo

Aguero could be good good, but a very expensive risk

If I want Nasri and Aguero I need to downgrade somwhere and considering ditching Demel. I have already Ward from Palace defence and not sure whether its worth it to double up palace defence. Could go for Mariappa. I could also go for Mirallas instead of Nasri but dont fancy triple everton. (I have Lukaku and Distin)

Fantasy Football Scout daily hot topic

Mata has been sensational the last few matches, a common theme is the lack of first RVP and then Rooney. Are Manchester United's star strikers anti-Mata? Or can Mata still get big hauls with those players on the pitch?

*anti-Mata line was from Anorak, our resident comerupper of great phrases.

Must be just down to where he plays. When only one (or neither) plays, he gets put in his proper position. When both play, he gets shoved out wide.

What should happen when both play is that Rooney gets forced out wide to accommodate him, but this is unfortunately unlikely.

Or take the bold move and play only one of Rooney and RVP with Mata. Mourinho was a bold manager who dropped Mata becaue he felt Oscar was better. Moyes needs to be bold, he's at a big club now and needs to make big decisions.

Yep, exactly. I think the position is now that Rooney is pretty much bulletproof because he's held the club to ransom so many times. It may just have to be that RVP gets wheeled out for certain games but doesn't play week by week. Doubt he'll be happy, but long term it could be a solution.

I'd stick with those 3. I have Yaya, Silva and Hart for the remainder of the season. I think it might be worth looking at Rooney up front instead of Aguero for the run in. Or even RVP if he is fit.

i have those three and my original thoughts were silva- ramsey would give me funds for aguero, but i am more and more thinking zaba.
zaba just never seems to make the right run to get on the goals or assists, so it is really only CS for him as he makes too many bap mistakes.
silva i believe plays better with aguero in team, mainly due to the fact that unlike dzeko he doesnt need 3/4 good chances to get one goal. So really he just needs an assist ever time the get CS to match zaba, and he is surely going to do more than that

How has Ramsey's return gone so under the radar?!

He has been the third most necessary player this year in FPL after Yaya and Suarez.

He's returning to fixtures including three home games against teams which are have plenty of problems at the moment (WHM NEW WBA), with the two away games against a managerless relgation contender (nor) and a team who's form has dropped in the second half of the season and who have nothing to play for (hull).

Arsenal's form has been poor but they lost to Chelsea and Everton, hardly pushovers, and drew with Man City and a resurgent Swansea.

They no longer have CL commitments and have players returning from injury (Gnabry, Gibbs and Kocielny expected back this week) so the mood will be picking up.

Is Ramsey the player to get in then, or should we wait one more week to replace our Everton players with Arsenal ones?

Morning all. Assuming I use my FT to do Sturridge > Ageuro, anything else you'd recommend for a -4? Would have £1.7m to spare and am thinking either:

    a) Mutch > Barkley/ Johnson
    b) Olsson > Kolarov/ Distin

    Boruc
    BAINES Terry WARD
    SILVA Hazard Gerrard Mutch
    LUKAKU AGUERO Suarez

Noone to Barkley rather than Mutch has a potentially huge upside imo even with the risk of not too many minutes.

Olsson needs to go soon as after this weekend their fixtures are horrendous. Kolarov we all know the risks. Distin doesn't have great fixtures after the double.

Got him in GW20 for Rav Morrison (lol)

    GW20 played him. 10 points.
GW21 benched. 0 points, missed penalty.
    GW22 played him. 11 points.

Sold him on Jan WC but had last minute change of heart and got him back in, just before deadline.

    GW23 played him. 11 points.

    Kept all the way until

    GW33 played him. 16 points.

I've played him 6 times in total for 51 points (8.5 ppg)

Glad all the talk is of Everton this morn. I mean it's derserved but that and then CL means there's no focus on our game Sunday for a while yet. They just need to stay focused and pumped.

Unlike me who already has "if only" permutations.

If we win our next 3 games. Chelsea drop pts between now and us and City lose to Everton we could wrap it up the Monday night against Palace. That's all like. Easy.

For me Aguero transfer in is fairly low risk. After the DGW I want Rooney in, so if Aguero gets injured it's a straight swap, and if he's not injured then he is likely considered a necessity for the run in.

    Issue with Aguero in is who to switch out in my midfield to fund. Currently options are looking like;
    Hazard > AJ
    Mata > AJ
Yaya > Nasri (if Yaya is injured)

I'm reluctant to take Mata out given the GW37 double, reluctant to take Yaya out due to Yaya, so it may be coming down to Hazard out. Here's for hoping Chelsea oust PSG so that the rotation risk is prevalent enough that I feel good about this...

Been to a couple and Hazard's looked sensational, and is starting to shoot a little more too. But, I'd need to do something and this is a little straw that I'm clinging to... Besides, being a Chelsea fan, if I take Hazard out and he scores 10 goals from now until the end of the season, I couldn't be too disheartened.

you cant do it through couple of defenders?
wouldnt want rid of any of those mids, but if you have to then prob yaya, if aguero back their shape might change and he might not get forward as much as well as losing PK

        Current team is
        Harper Boruc
        Cahill Azpi Coleman Ward Chester
        Yaya Mata Silva Hazard Puncheon
        Suarez Sturride Lukaku

Not a huge amount of wriggle room in defence, and quite like the idea of having double Chelsea defence to the end as don't think any teams with doubles will better them. Even if I were to take Cahill out there would have to be another transfer elsewhere.

I'm kind of thinking the same about Yaya, it'd make my decision a whole lot easier if he was ruled out. Hope that isn't the case for him though, he's been phenomenal.

Who should i put in this week folks? Aguero or Dzeko? Most people must be in the same situation. Which are you guys going for? Or None of them perhaps?

I'm getting in Aguero. As I want top 10k I can't afford to play it safe now. Might as well go for it and hope for the best, or finish like 30-40k.
He'll get some minutes for sure anyway, just hope he can make the best use of them!

60 points behind league leader (I'm in 2nd place). Need to take some risks?
    Mannone* (Adrian)
    Coleman* Zabaleta* Baker (Chester,Dummet)
    Silva* Yaya* Ki* Hazard (Nolan)
    Lukaku* (C) Adebayor Suarez*

Took a hit to bring in Lukaku. So another hit (to make -8 points total) for:
    A) Dummet - Ward/Stones
    B) Nolan -> AJ/Mirallas
    C) Any suggestions?

You want to make 60 points. Aguero is probably your best bet

Can't see me salvaging much from 200k so I probably will for the last 2 or 3 weeks.
