John Terry is a doubt for Chelsea’s trip to Swansea. Arsene Wenger confirms Aaron Ramsey will start in the FA Cup. James Morrison has emerged as a fitness worry for West Brom. Tim Krul could return between the sticks for Newcastle. Aston Villa and Fulham receive injury boosts ahead of clashes with Crystal Palace and Norwich respectively, whilst Leon Osman is the only Everton doubt for the trip to Wearside, with Phil Jagielka missing out yet again:

Reports suggest that John Terry is a doubt for Chelsea’s trip to Swansea after picking up a foot problem. Fantasy managers waiting for news of Eden Hazard’s calf injury could be left none the wiser heading into the weekend deadline after Jose Mourinho appears to have cancelled his usual Friday lunchtime press conference.

Artur Boruc and Gaston Ramirez remain doubtful with the back and ankle problems that kept them out of last week’s game against Man City. Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed both will be assessed prior to tomorrow’s home encounter with Cardiff.

Ahead of the FA Cup clash with Wigan, Arsene Wenger has revealed that Aaron Ramsey is ready to feature from the start as he builds up his match fitness. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Kieran Gibbs and Tomas Rosicky are all doubts to face Wigan and, whilst Laurent Koscielny is definitely out of Saturday’s fixture, he could recover in time to face the Hammers in midweek. Meanwhile, Mesut Ozil could return from a hamstring injury in time for next week’s clash with Hull.

James Morrison is the Baggies’ only injury concern for the visit of Spurs with a muscle problem. Morrison will undergo a late fitness test, with Mel confirming that Chris Brunt will deputise in central midfield should Morrison not recover, in what is also expected to be an otherwise unchanged starting XI.

Newcastle could receive a boost ahead of the trip to the Britannia with Alan Pardew suggesting that Tim Krul “has a chance” of playing following injury. Loic Remy has resumed training but this weekend will come too soon for the Frenchman, confirms Pardew. Mathieu Debuchy is expected to return to training next week following a groin injury, according to reports.

Gabby Agbonlahor, Karim El Ahmadi and Fabian Delph have all been declared fit for the trip to Crystal Palace, having missed out last weekend through illness and injury respectively.

Fulham will welcome back Scott Parker to the squad for the crucial Canaries clash this weekend. Dan Burn and Giorgos Karagounis are also available for selection once more. Felix Magath, though, has ruled out both Kostas Mitroglou and Moussa Dembele, with the latter taking part in the Dallas Cup with Fulham’s youth squad.

Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Leon Osman remains the only new injury doubt for the trip to Sunderland with an eye injury, with the squad expected to be the same as it was against Arsenal. A behind-closed-doors friendly has been arranged for Phil Jagielka next week, to allow the central defender to build up his match fitness following a hamstring injury.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

Sadly, as a Dzeko owner, I fear you may be right.

Big decision to make now. Keep him for the dgw or trade him up for Aguero?

I'm veering towards keeping Dzeko this gw and seeing how well Aguero plays himself back to match fitness during these 2 games with a view to getting him next GW.

Bear in mind that City still have another DGW to come as well so plenty of time to get him in between now and then.

Fantasy Football Scout daily hot topic

    What are you playing for?

Mark's recent pre-amble, about whether the FPL game needs to give some added incentive for players who have not had a great season, sparked a lot of discussion.

So I thought I'd ask what are you still playing for and are you still motivated? Do any of you aim to win it? Is it just getting the best overall rank you can? Is minileague glory within your grasp? Or do you need no more motivation than the thrill of each week's team sheet, transfer decision and captain choice?

This applies to both those having a good and bad season. Particularly like to hear from those who have had a bad season but are still finding motivation in the final few gameweeks.

Ditto - I have twice missed out on the holy grail of top 1k on the last day of the season. Ranked 1.2k atm, so highly motivated. Mini-league and associated riches in the bag.

Tbh, no matter where I am ranked, I will always be motivated to get as high a overall rank as possible. This is always my season aim, with everything else taking care of itself.

i think rather than what mark was suggesting, there should be a monthly rank system too. so if you're having a good season but have an exceptional month you are still rewarded. in my mini leagues we filter points by month every month and the person who is top for that month wins some cash. keeps everyone interested till the end

Money and pride as always. Can still make it second in my ML, which would win me some money and moderate bragging rights, if not amazing as the winner grabs the most. Also, I can still plausibly make it to top 5k in world, which would also endow me with reasonable bragging rights, I think. So, it's not meaningless.

Having finished 2nd in the work mini league for the last 4 years and having never won it, that's all I want.

Twice I've been beaten by fluke seasons with those guys languishing 100-200 points behind me in every year before and since, once by someone who finished 2k, so fair play.

Rank wise it's all about being better than the previous year. 300k, 100k, 60k, 12k previous finishes.

Been a shockingly poor season for me overall. At this point my goal is to aim to finish inside the top 100K and there's a tight battle in my main ML for 2nd amongst my pals so beating them is motivation enough at this point.

More willing to take risks though now that my initial goal of finishing inside the top 10K and winning my ML are all but dead.

Constantly trying to better myself as an FPL manager 😀

I want to win my mini-leagues but there's normally only 1 or 2 people in the ones I care about that are good managers, the rest are pretty casual.

I just want to beat the previous year 🙂 If I keep improving like I have done then I'll eventually be getting top 1k finishes 😉 Just you wait!

Well in my case, I'm on 7th in my country and the 1st has given a comfortable 100pt lead to himself and the 2nd spot is still up for grabs. Plus, I want to see where I could go on rankings.

Like you, Jonty, I would like to challenge myself to do better every season and have the best ranking I could achieve. This is my first season where I am much more paying attention to FPL unlike the past seasons I'm in it where "just create a team and leave it alone". So maybe that is one of the reasons why I'm still thrilled playing.

I'm currently 10k overall and 2nd by 9 points in my ML with some decent players. I wanna win! I'm 11th in the Korean League and aiming for top 10 (leader is over 160 points ahead so can't catch that)
I set up a Manager of the Month League for a club I'm in, that keeps interest with monthly prizes. It also means players can join in at any time of the year. I work beside people from many countries and they don't all follow football, but with a MoM league even the most casual player can have a laugh and join in.

"...the FPL should provide more incentive for those not having a great season" .... that sounds like more sour grapes than when Mr and Mrs S. Grape went to the MacSour-Grape Clan meeting in the Sour Grape City convention center!

About €300 and €150 for second. Last place has to buy the highest individual GW scorer a world cup jersey because in previous seasons people that are a fair way off the lead soon stop bothering. This keeps everyone in the hunt.

A top 99,999 finish would do be to be honest. But it would be nice to get below 80k. And to win my mini league would be an incredible come back so that too

In terms of best to worst, Chelsea are probably the worst. But I don't think any of the teams would want to draw Chelsea - they, and Mourinho especially, revel in the underdog status and always perform in the big matches. So in that sense, I would put Atletico last (ie. the other teams would prefer to face Atletico).

Bayern - first to win retain the cup
Real - first to win 10 CL titles

I think our forward line and midfield can make up for our shoddy defending at times..

I think all 4 have weaknesses:

                Real = defending
                Chelsea = attacking / controlling
                Bayern = mental bottlers
Atletico = Tiredness, Simeone has run them like dogs

We've won it twice since you last did 😛

Cost ourselves another two trophies in that period as well in those Deportivo and Liverpool games 😡

Unfortunately, the good times with financial resources are over.

        Atletico
        Bayern
        Real
        Chelsea

I think this is the best Semi finals in years, 4 very evenly matched and talented teams, each with their own styles and strengths and weaknesses!

I like this too. But frankly, I would have been happy with almost any combination you could make of the quarter finalists. Maybe boring ManU was something I would have not cared to see in semis.

But I like how these teams all play recognizable, different styles of football, are very different teams in general, and can form two interesting duels: Real-Atletico, the Madrid derby; Chelsea-Bayern, clash of 2012 finalists, last season's super cup finalists and not insignificantly, of Mourinho and Guardiola.

Yup, all 4 have connections with each other,

Real v Atletico = madrid derby
              Real v Chelsea = Mourinho
Real v Bayern = Ancient European rivals
Bayern v Chelsea = as you said
              Bayern v Atletico = champions v newcomers
Atletico v Chelsea = probably the least link, but still Mourinho vs Madrid

This is going to be fun 😀

There we go! 😀 Forgot about that!

Oh yeah and Courtois vs Chelsea if Atletico pay the 6m they have to pay to let him play vs Chelsea!

One player v. old team is very little rivalry. You could then add Robben v. Real and Robben v. Chelsea.

I think Atletico really doesn't have these rivalries with Chelsea or Bayern. Newcomers v. Chapmions ain't a rivalry. Atletico should play Real at some point. Preferably in semis because I would not like an all Spanish final.

      Hello all,

In a panic right now, with 4 players being doubtful.
Terry, Chamberlain, Yaya Toure and Hazard.
Which of the 4 is likely to play this weekend?
      All advice are welcome.
