Any source that he plans to switch away from five at the back? That was hugely effective against Spain.

Think someone posted it before, I'll try find it.

They don't need 5 at the back against Australia though 😉

It'll be more three at the back against Australia. Blind will be practically camped near their corner flag he'll be so far forward.

I think I read somewhere that the 5 at the back was down to 2 things

            1) Strootman's injury

            2) Playing Spain

LvG felt he needed to close down the space between the lines that Spain like to operate in and Strootman was key to that, so him going down caused the formation change. Can't see him needing to go 5-3-2 v the Aussies

    Re: Italy

Italy could make three changes to the side that beat England when facing Costa Rica on Friday and move Matteo Darmian.

The Azzurri won their opening World Cup tie 2-1 on Saturday night, playing a 4-1-4-1 formation with Giorgio Chiellini as left-back.

With Milan man Mattia De Sciglio unlikely to be risked from the start after his thigh injury, Cesare Prandelli is looking at other alternatives for that role.

It’s reported he could move Torino’s Darmian over to the left, having been so impressive as right-back against England.

This would allow Ignazio Abate to go on the right and switch Chiellini back into his favoured central position with Leonardo Bonucci probably giving Juventus teammate Andrea Barzagli a rest.

This would mean dropping Gabriel Paletta, as the Parma defender seemed ill-at-ease in Manaus.

Marco Verratti is another player who could be left out against Costa Rica, as he is still recovering from a bout of flu.

He could be replaced by his Paris Saint-Germain teammate Thiago Motta.

Salvatore Sirigu, also of PSG, is almost certain to retain the gloves after Gigi Buffon’s ankle injury.

Italy probable: Sirigu; Abate, Bonucci, Chiellini, Darmian; De Rossi; Candreva, Thiago Motta, Pirlo, Marchisio; Balotelli

For Russia, Kerzhakov/Dzagoev will surely start now. Not sure who they'd replace though, probably Zhirkov for one as he was rubbish.

For Portugal, Beto comes in for the injured Patricio.

I'd probably change the Belgium predicted lineup too after their subs came on and turned the game on it's head. Mertens in for Chadli, with De Bruyne going central. Fellaini in for Dembele. Origi could probably start over Lukaku but i'm less certain about that.

For Ghana, Essien and Boateng should both start now after they affected the game when they came on. Rabiu and one of the Ayew brothers(Probably Jordan) to make way.

For Algeria, Halliche should be in defence, Medjani in midfield. I think Cadamuro will start over Halliche though, latter preferred vs Belgium to deal with Lukaku.

Likely to be changes for Greece after Colombia's thrashing of them. Perhaps Mitroglou over Gekas, Fetfatzidis over Salpingidis, and Tzavelas over Holebas

Obaabona came off injured and has been ruled out for the next game. Yobo to replace him. There are also two Onazi's listed for Nigeria. Think one of them should be Osaze(Odemwingie)

For Croatia, Pranjic is fit now so i think he'll replace Vrsaljko.

Webo likely to replace Eto'o if he's ruled out through injury.

Obviously no sources for a few of these, as they're educated guesswork. But i think they're more likely than the current predicted lineups.
