Ahead of England’s vital Group D game against Uruguay tonight, Paddy Power are rolling out a tempting offer for those yet to register an account. With Roy Hodgson’s England set to face the South Americans at 8pm, our bookmaker mates are offering odds of 5/1 for the Three Lions to bounce back from their defeat against Italy and defeat Luis Suarez and co:

Given that the regular odds are just 11/10, this is clearly another great offer from Paddy. Click here to get involved.

Those who already have an account with Paddy can still take advantage of a Money Back Special on offer. Paddy will refund all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score & Scorecast singles on the match as a free bet if Uruguay win – found out more here.

To clarify, the England enhanced odds special is limited to a £10 stake, open to new Paddy Power customers only and subject to the terms and conditions specified.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

          😉

On a serious note, not enough people are noticing how unbelievably well Modric has played all season.. Reminding me of Iniesta in his prime.

I really rate Leighton Baines for Everton, but was I the only one to think he was absolutely atrocious last night? Or is it there general consensus?
Whenever the attacking move went out left, he just froze or threw in a wasted cross giving possession back..

Gerrard sucked, but I don't think I've ever seen Baines play that badly. Made Welbeck look good.

don't make me re think. How many points will you gain?
Muller scored a hat trick and scored 18. That's 36 if he was captained.
Messi or another would have to go big to justify an 11 point gamble. I don't mind if Messi gets 12-14 meaning I only miss out on 2 or 3 points rather than Iran shutting up shop and Messi getting 6 and losing out on more.

Just to keep you all filled with hope: You already know that England can go through on 3 points but what you might not know is that a team HAS successfully reached the knockout stages having only scored 3 points. That team was Chile and it was in 1998's Group B. They drew all 3 of their games and went through 2nd.

That being said, a team has never reached the knockout stages after losing 2 of their group games... But there still remains hope. Unfortunately it's the hope that kills you...

Costa Rica losing 2 is perfectly realistic.

So it probably all boils down to Italy v Uruguay.
But in that game, Italy wont need a win. Just a draw.
And Uruguay me be happy with that if England are beating Costa Rica.

My guess is, Italy and Uruguay see out the end of the game not pushing to win.

        Hope so anyway. 😀

As Crazy Joe says, if Italy beat CR tonight the table will be:

            Italy 6
            Uruguay 3
            Costa Rica 3
            England 0

If Uruguay beat Italy and Costa Rica beat England it'll be

            Italy 6
            Uruguay 6
            Costa Rica 6
            England 0

and it goes down to GD.
