With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Next up is D1sable, the winner of the 2013/14 Fantasy Football Scout moderators and contributors league.

De Gea/Hamer
Filipe Luis, Chester, Moore, Cameron, Mariappa
Sterling, Ramsey, Albrighton, Sigurdsson, Mata
Rooney, Diego Costa, Dzeko

D1sable tells us he wants a Manchester United and a Chelsea defender but he is unsure about Luis Felipe’s game time and doesn’t trust Manchester United defenders to stay fit. Luke Shaw’s fitness is a particular concern.

He hasn’t gone for rotation at the back,  just selected defenders from defensive sides. While in midfield he really wants Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure but he has found he just decimates the team with his price. Toure could be brought in with a wildcard later.  He is also a reluctant owner of Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata, with Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas waiting in the wings. Liverpool’s attack is another area he feels he is lacking and he is concerned that Diego Costa may not be the best route into Chelsea goals and assists.

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

    Begovic, 4m
    Terry, Debuchy, Jones, Huth, Ward
    Hazard, Ramsey, Mata, Siggy, 4.5m
    Rooney, Dzeko, Austin

I can downgrade Terry to £4m defender after two weeks if I need a cash injection anywhere else in the team. Play either 442 or 343 dependant on fixtures.

I would stay clear of Terry as we don't know for sure who the back 4 will be. Also not liking Austin unless you intend on benching.

Can't see them dropping the captain for the first few games but it is a bit of a minefield.
The other option is 4m defender and Giroud/Jovetic - I spend my days swapping between them.

I think Jovetic could score well if he plays but his place is in jeopardy as soon as Aguero is ready.

Yeah that's why I'm not a big fan of putting him in - it's bad enough just having Dzeko.

Would you be happy playing Begovic every week, I am unsure about the double Stoke presence at the back. A 2 X 4.5 GK rotation option may be better, Krul & Foster or Krul and Monnone perhaps?

I am still not sure on Debuchy, I have my reservations but think the rest of the Defence is solid and would be surprised if all 5 didn't start GW1 TBH.

You could downgrade Haz to Fab and use the difference on your 4.5 Mid or Austin? If you need the additional 0.5 on top of that for say Remy or Pelle you could swap Dzeko for Jovetic too.

      A nice squad though.

Someone said to take Debuchy out for Evans, as United have easier fixtures and a more disciplined manager. Alread have the required amount of United players with Mata, De Gea and Rooney. Don't really want to change DDG or Rooney, so what to people think out Debuchy and Mata to Evans and Ramsey ?

Other issue in defence is playing time for Wisdom.

Also, opinions on Pelle as my third striker as bit of diferential ?

    De Gea, Schmeichel
Van Aaanholt, Debuchy, Cahill, Ward, Wisdom
    Mata, Eriksen, Sigurdsson, Sterling, Albrighton

I wouldn't take Mata out, your MUN players are fine how they are.
Difficult to tell with Pelle but once you get to that price range and under everyone is a gamble - at least he has good fixtures!

I have Debuchy in my team above, but I do plan on benching him in weeks 2,4,6 and 7.
His other 6 fixtures in the opening 10 weeks are really good, I'm aware most people don't spend as much as me on defence though so I think playing him every week is fine.
Arsenal had the second highest number of cleansheets after Chelsea last year - not bad for a £5.5m defender.
I have no idea about £4m defenders, seems to be a lottery at the moment.

    Guzan
    Debuchy Cahill Evans Vlaar
    Sterling Barkley Ramsey
    Sturridge Rooney Giroud

    Krul Mutch Bruce Albrighton

1st go, I think it looks pretty poor. Trying to go with 3 good strikers, usually would play midfield 4 and 1 bench and 3 defenders with other 2 rotating difficult fixtures.

Sturridge uses up a lot of your budget that may be better spent on a Chelsea player due to early fixtures. Also Barkley is in for a tough run of games.

Team looks good. Just kick Albrighton out and you will be set.
    Concerns:
    * Having 4 defenders that arent sure starter is risky imo.
    * What if an expensive player start hitting ground? Your cash is well distributed and it will be tough to get them without major surgery.

No Siggy over Snodgrass? I assume you have your reasons.
Myhill's price could drop quickly due to high ownership.
Overall pretty solid with good distribution of funds - slightly more in defence than most but nothing wrong with that!

It's a nice team, would give it 7.5/10
      - Not sure Luis will play
      - I think having a 5.5 fwd, 2 4.0 defs and a 4.0 gk is a bit light in certain departments (e.g covering Krul's unfavourable fixtures such as MCI GW1, and Wisdom and Duff risk not getting game time), especially considering you don't have Sanchez or Hazard, not sure about those 4 big midfielders butyou never know, it could pay off.

Agreed. 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 at the beginning but definitely not 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 IMO. 4-3-3 will become viable later in the season though I think.

I don't like the GK combo and would prefer picking DDG, Lloris, or even Speroni with a 4m non-playing keeper. That will allow you to downgrade once defender while still covering Palace, Spurs, United and Chelsea defence, which I agree are the four best teams to cover in my opinion. Use any extra cash to upgrade Marney (to Puncheon?) if you want to play a 3-5-2,

Yo folks, for the first time I'm posting an RMT! Let me know your thoughts. I'm not settled on my defence yet as it depends on who I feel is nailed-on and what budget is left after I am happy with my attack, which is my priority early on.

My defence will probably include United (DDG, Evans or a new CB), Spurs, Palace (probably Ward) and Chelsea cover, plus two whichever 4m bench options are deemed to be nailed. I plan to play 3 at the back every week for the first few week. Here is my attack:

    Hazard Ramsey Mata Puncheon Siggy

    Rooney Costa Naismith

Notes: I really want to fit Eriksen in somehow. I could do this by downgrading Costa to Dzeko and upgrading Puncheon, or by simply downgrading Mata or Hazard and free funds so that picking my defence is easier.

I am planning a 3-5-2 with Naismith on the bench due to lack of inspiration in the striking options. I know my bench is really weak, but I like the fact that owning Rooney, Costa and three expensive mids gives me flexibility to quickly react and get in any player in the game within a couple of transfer. I will no doubt upgrade Naismith within the first 3-4 weeks once a viable option emerges from any money I get from downgrading the above mentioned big-hitters.

    Jones - Filipe Luis - B.Davies - Debuchy (Wisdom)
Sanchez - Hazard - Eriksen - Sigurdsson (Albrighton)
    Lukaku - Rooney (Bojan)

What do you think? I may swap Lukaku with Giroud due to not having a great first set of fixtures.

You should probably just list the differences.

But I thin k probably A is slightly better, at least initially.

    De Gea
    Vlaar, Davies (Spurs), Terry
    Eriksen, Sanchez, Tadic, Fabregas
    Rooney, Giroud, Riviere

    Bench:
    Wisdom, Bruce, Tiote, Gilks.

I'm not overly sold on Riviere and Giroud at the moment. I've got an extra 1.0 to spend. Thinking about maybe even playing a 3-5-2, upgrading Tiote to a Snodgrass, Siggy, Henderson, Barkley or someone and getting a cheaper forward maybe Bojan from Stoke. Any feedback would be great. Thanks.

    At the moment have

    Krul / Foster

    Filipe Luis / Evans / B Davies / Bartley / Duff

    Fabregas / Sanchez / Eriksen / Mata / Wanyama

    Rooney / Costa / Zamora

Zamora pick I think is weak though, worth downgrading Eriksen to Siggy or Sanchez to Ramsey and using the free cash to upgrade?

      You need Sanchez/Ramsay & Cesc/Hazard
      Sagna not first choice
Sell Jags, Everton fixtures not brilliant.

    @D1sable:

I'm not personally a fan of rotating defenders and having 4 rotating for 2 spots has never worked as far as I can remember, especially from the start. On the other hand, your attack is very strong as a result and you could be onto something my ignoring the trend to invest in 3 strikers and not investing so much in defence.

I think having none of Fab/Hazard and ignoring Eriksen/Lamela could be costly, but you've obviously gone with Sterling instead.

Overall a good team, although I think the back 3 may bring frustration, particularly if Luis is eased into the team (which I suspect will happen)

It's the biggest headache I'm having at the moment, was debating it with my mate last night. He advocated just having 3 decent(ish) defenders and letting them get on with it. Maybe one 4.5 in reserve. So far I have gone down the route of having one heavy hitter (evans) and two pairs rotating, but the more I think about it the less value it seems to have.

Think will be easier after GW5(I think) and just being able to get an Everton full back in and knowing who the big teams are playing in defense. At the moment very few in United & Chelsea are nailed on, and the rest (Tot, Ev, Liv, Ars, & MC) haven't got the easiest run of fixtures....

      Oh decisions decisions....

    RMT Please:

    Mannone/Krul

    Jones,Baines,Luis,Wisdom,Chester

    Ramsey, Sterling, Fabregas, Mata, Albrighton

    Rooney, Jovetic, Bojan

I can downgrade any of the midfielders to siggurdson for a cash injection (too ad RVP if needed) or downgrade baines for a 5.5 defender for cash.

Way too light up front for my liking. Only Rooney is a pretty much guaranteed source of goals and armband captaincy. I'd probably want to upgrade Jovetic to someone safer at least. And Siggy is a decent option to help with that.

Thanks for the reply. Who would you suggest I downgrade? Fabregas for sigurdson and then bring in diego costa?

That's exactly the move I would make. I don't believe in 'cover' as such, but this way you've still got an attacker from Chelsea but also another option for the armband.
