Injuries

Sanchez Ruled out of North London Derby

In his Thursday lunchtime press conference, Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Alexis Sanchez will miss Saturday’s trip to Tottenham with the hamstring injury that forced him out of last weekend’s win over Aston Villa.

Discussing the injury situation, the Gunners boss admitted the Chilean could be in contention for the plum home clash against Leicester, however – which takes place just three days after their trip to White Hart Lane:

“The latest is that Alexis is not ready. He is not far away, the Leicester game is a possibility. He is of course very difficult to keep quiet! He is training but it’s light training.”

Sanchez has tumbled 0.2 in price in the FPL game this week and now sits at 11.3 – given that winter wildcards are still in play, today’s news will spark a further exodus. With Santi Cazorla in such fine form and with both Mesut Ozil and Theo Walcott bagging a goal apiece against Paul Lambert’s side, there are no shortage of options available for Fantasy managers to consider in Wenger’s midfield right now.

The Arsenal boss also confirmed that Danny Welbeck is available for selection and with the schedule picking up pace, he clearly doesn’t have to rush his star player back into action. If Sanchez is fit for midweek, though, those who choose to sell face an uncomfortable Tuesday evening’s viewing if his manager choose to unleash him against the league’s third worst defence – his last seven appearances at the Emirates have garnered 78 points, with returns of 13, 16, 2, 9, 9, 10 and 19 points.

Well, if I get Coutinho, I can afford Ivanovic. Interesting.

      Instead of Terry+Sterling?
Maybe with something itb too? That is pretty interesting actually.

Question of earth-shattering importance! Choose an option:

    A. start Boyd (WBA)
    B. start Wolls (new)
    C. start Silva (HUL -4)

    Extra Credit:

What is the probability of Silva scoring at least 6 points this weekend (rounded to the nearest 1/10th of 1%)?

Depends on your goals. My ML is filled with Cazorla, and I've got a 50 point lead, so I went for Walcott.

    Reasons why Sanchez is still in my squad;

    1) upcoming blank for other teams. Need to start moving them out pronto.
    2) LEI next fixture, which could be a haul. Increasingly doubt he will play this tho
    3) Long break afterwards meaning he should miss max 2
    4) weakest midfielder is Chadli. If I went with a strong 8, this is why...

Sorry, thinking out loud hear...in knots!

Half a million sold Costa last week and he only fell 0.1.

I got Sanchez for 10.3 and have 0 itb.

No brainer for me, I am keeping.

He might miss the derby and Leicester both, but if I sold him now I wont be able to get him back in good time because none of the mids in the game are near his value so it will take 2 FTs or a hit. And with the DGW approaching I cannot waste any FTs.

    Fair reasoning?

Sanchez already fell by 0.2 this week and will fall some more, I am pretty sure he at the very least won't start against Leicester, may come on as a sub, he is very important to Arsenal in the big matches and with them in such good form without him, there is no way they will rush him back.

But you would like him back after the 2-3 weeks right?

    I have 5.1itb

    Do I
A)lose Sanchez and get a Silva or someone
    or
B)Upgrade moses to a better midfielder and bench Sanchez?

Other mids are hazard, wally, puncheon

These are dangerous times not to have an Arsenal midfielder.

do you have Giroud, or are you ok with only one Arsenal attacker v LEI

Yeah I have Giroud...I'd sooner get the Arsenal mid right for Leicester at home rather than Spurs away and risk a change of line up 3 days later.

I have Wally but not Giroud, so I'm unsure what to do
