The Scout Picks Community Champion Vote – Gameweek 35

Welcome to this week’s Scout Picks Community Champion vote. Here’s a reminder of how this works. As part of our revamped Scout Picks, Mark, myself, Paul and a community champion picked by you each week are up against each other. All four teams are then used to decide our final weekly Scout Picks.

We are now looking for Gameweek 35’s Scout Picks Community Champion to represent you and get one over on The Scouts as well as be in with a chance of winning a special prize. The champion who manages the best Gameweek score (or best score from the first ten matches in a double Gameweek) will win a £100 Amazon voucher.

To put yourself forward simply add in your Gameweek 35Scout Picks. For everyone else please upvote the poster you would like to represent you based on their picks.

We only need 11 picks and please be mindful of the 84m budget. There’s no captain in the picks either and please stick to a designated FPL formation, including no more than three players from one team.

I’ll leave this vote open until 10am tomorrow (Wednesday) when I will announce the winner, who will be asked to submit their final XI plus 200-word explanation to me by 5pm Thursday.

Any attempts to disrupt the voting process may lead to the team involved being removed at our discretion. Also the comment section below is for those who want to present their teams and vote. If you have any suggestions on how the Scout Picks can be improved further next year please email me at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk rather than leave a comment below.

First time ever trying to make a team for the community scout picks and would love to represent. Have a look at my team and please upvote if you like the suggestions:

Schmeichel (4.4m) (NEW)- in very good form, racks up save points and playing in a very important game. Leicester generally have good form and Newcastle aren't exactly scoring for fun.

Cresswell (5.6m) (BUR)- home game vs a team struggling to score goals. He is on set pieces (scored a free kick very recently) and has massive assist potential

Skrtel (6m) (QPR)- another one at home against a team with a very poor away record. Bonus point magnet should Liverpool keep a clean sheet and can always pop up with a headed goal from set pieces.

Smalling (5.3m) (WBA)- man utd will want to bounce back from their latest defeat. Smalling is another who is a big threat from set pieces and a clean sheet at home to WBA isn't exactly the unlikeliest of things despite man utds poor form.

Hazard (11.4m) (CPL)- what more needs to be said. A player just voted POTY, on pens in a team likely to seal the premier league trophy in this fixture.

Sigurdsson (6.5m) (STO)- he himself has set a target for goals before the end of the season so could be more selfish in front of goal. Playing behind the front man, on set pieces and with a kind fixture.

Sterling (8.6m) (QPR)- if Liverpool beat hull tonight, they go into this fixture knowing if they win it, they will be only 1 point behind man utd albeit having played a game more. Sterling is liverpools biggest threat and could continue up front in an advanced position with sturridge out. Also he may be looking to impress potential suitors or impress enough to convince Liverpool to pay him the big bucks this summer.

Fellaini (6.4m) (WBA)- man utd need to bounce back and for the same reasons just mentioned, the gap will need to be extended over Liverpool again. With Rooney potentially out, Fellaini may be relied on via set pieces or even long balls to get man utd the points.

Ramsey (8.6m) (hul)- I couldn't ignore the lack of arsenal away to hull. Ramsey has decent form and was showing flashes of skill vs Chelsea. This IMO is when he is playing with full confidence and that swagger that saw him grab all those goals early last season.

Aguero (12.6m) (tot)- aguero has a great record vs spurs and who can forget his 4 goal haul against them earlier this season. I certainly can't.

Benteke (7.6m)- I've chosen benteke over vardy and more noticeably giroud. I want to spread the selections between a few teams and benteke is in great form and maybe playing for a move next season?

This totals 83m (1m under budget), formation 3-5-2

GK - Schmeichel (NEW) - Newcastle won't score
DF - Alderweireld (sun) - Sunderland won't score
DF - Bertrand (sun) - see above
DF - Kolarov (tot) - no explanation needed
MF - Hazard (CPL) - POTY performance incoming on the day Chelsea win the title
MF - Sterling (QPR) - looking to put himself in the shop window
MF - Ramsey (hul) - flashes or brilliance against Chelsea - expecting a strong finish to the season
MF - Adam (swa) - can score from anywhere
FW - Benteke (EVE) - unplayable and Villa need goals after being dragged back into it
FW - Pelle (sun) - reinvigorated, playing Sunderland, and more importantly playing John O'Shea
FW - N'Doye (ARS) - no explanation needed

it's probably well under budget tbf

    K.Davis

    Azpi - Cresswell - Smalling - Bertrand

    Ramsey - Sigurdsson - Hazard - Mata

    Aguero - Giroud

    K.Davis (sun) - 4.5
Against Sunderland which only scored twice in last 5 home match.

    Bertrand (sun) - 5.9
He surely has some strong potential point return, both attack & defense against Sunderland.

    Smalling (WBA) - 5.3
MU's strong home defensive record against inconsistent WBA.

    Azpilicueta (CPL) - 6.1
    Chelsea at home. Picks himself.

    Mata (WBA) - 8.5
He's become key player for MU's attacking strategy (44% goal involvement in last 5 GWs).

    Sigurdsson (STO) - 6.5
In excellent form & operated as 2nd striker in Swansea's last attacking set-up.

    Hazard (CRY) - 11.4
At home against Palace's leaky defence.

    Ramsey (hul) - 8.6
He has involved in 5 of 12 team goals in the last 7 GW. Arsenal have scored 8 goals in their last 3 matches against Hull at KC (2.7 goals scored average). Big potential.

    Giroud (hul) - 8.6
Arsenal's main scorer. Hull defenders couldn't stop him.

    Aguero (tot) - 12.6
He's back!! He's unstoppable, especially by Spurs weak defence (4 cleansheet in 17 home matches)

    TOTAL = 83.6

I'll try again after an unlucky gameweek that could have given me more points if Benteke had been given that penalty.

    Schmeichel

    Skrtel - Azpilicueta - Cresswell

    Hazard - Ramsey - Sigurdsson - Henderson

    Aguero - Benteke - Pellè

    83 M

Schmeichel: He's been a great pick and he still is with 24 points in the last game(10 in the last one) and a game against Newcastle.

Skrtel: He is one of the best defenders in the FPL at the moment after picking up 9 more points against WBA. His ownership is not high(9.7%) and he's a goal threat too.

Azpilicueta: I picked him over players like Ivanovic, Terry, or any United defender because he's cheaper than his two teammates and he's an undeniable BPS magnet with 25 points and 7 BPS collected in the last three games, against Ivanovic's 16 points(and no BPS) and Terry's 20 points(and only 2 BPS). His ownership is much lower too(8.6%) which makes him a small differential.

Cresswell: With a surprising clean sheet he's a pick that worked out well for me in the last scout picks and so i decided to stand by him given his possible attacking returns and the fact that now he's on set pieces too.

Hazard: Even though he didn't deliver against Arsenal he's just one of the most phenomenal players in the world and Chelsea needs him now more than ever to officially secure the PL.

Ramsey: Him over Ozil because he has simply delivered more points in the last five games compared to the german. 38 points against 21 with 22 of those points delivered in the last three(2 assists against Liverpool and a winning goal against Burnley) plus the fact that he's always a bigger threat than Ozil(and his price is 0.3M cheaper too).

Sigurdsson: One goal and two assists in the last four games, 13 points delivered against weak Newcastle makes Sigurdsson a viable option once again but not for long. In fact what really makes him a good option for the next gameweek is the fact that he's going to play against Stoke, a defence incapable of collecting one single clean sheet in the last six games. With Gomis injured, Sigurdsson is definitely Swansea's main hope for goals.

Henderson: Despite blanking against WBA(well, his all team did), Henderson is still Liverpool's most in-form player and he's still cheaper than Sterling and Coutinho(who both delivered less points than him recently). A game against QPR(only one clean sheet in the last 9 games) is definitely a good chance for Jordan to score a few more points.

Aguero: Four goals and 24 points in the last three games for Kun after a short series of blanks that only lowered his ownership a little more. He now faces Spurs, a defence that allowed him to score 4 goals and 19 points the last time. Even though his form is not the same as in that game this is clearly a game that could end up with a few goals scored by both sides and Kun is practically City's only source of goals.

Benteke: He could have scored against City too if he hadn't missed a sitter and if he had been awarded a penalty that was not assigned because the referee saw an inexistent offside. This is his only blank in the last four gameweeks with 5 goals(31 points) scored in the three previous games. His ownership is still at only 3.8% and that could make him a fantastic differential.

Pellè: "That gum you like is going to come back in style"; that legendary quote by Michael J. Anderson in Twin Peaks could apply to Pellè, who, after a drought lasted 14 gameweeks, has come back to scoring goals with three of them delivered in the last three games(two against Spurs with 13 points overall). A game against Sunderland is a good chance for the italian to find more goals given that the black cats' defense has conceded 10 goals in the last five games(5 goals only in the last 2) and could allow Pellè to become a nice differential until the double gameweek.

Throwing my hat in the ring for the first time ever this season. Hope it goes well.

    Davis
    Smalling, Terry, Bellerin
    Sterling, Sanchez, Hazard, Siggy
    Aguero, Pelle, Vardy

    K.Davis (sun) - 4.5
Against Sunderland who don't score much

    Smalling (WBA) - 5.3
United are strong at home defensively and can score a goal

    Terry (CRY) - 6.9
Chelsea keeps clean sheets and he can get a goal anytime

    Bellerin (HUL) - 4.6
Arsenal are keeping a lot of clean sheets and Hull don't score much

    Sterling (QPR) - 8.6
Liverpool's most lively player and might play upfront

    Sanchez (HUL) - 11.2
Arsenal's best player this season and most explosive and looking very lively

    Hazard (CRY) - 11.4
Player of the Year. Doesn't need an explanation

    Siggy (STK) - 6.5
In form right now, on set pieces and plays behind the striker

    Aguero (tot) - 12.6
Is back in form and has a good record against spurs

    Pelle (sun) - 7.4
Has his scoring boots back and on form

    Vardy (NEW) - 4.7
Leicester and Vardy both on form and fighting for survival against a poor newcastle team

And we have a winner. Congratulations Wolverine...your strong adamantine backbone to your XI has carried you through. Benteke and Aguero providing an extendable claw swipe in attack too.

If you can email me your final XI based on any further injury developments plus 200 word explanation by 5pm Thursday that'd be great.
