Introducing Fantasy Bet

Fantasy Bet is the latest game to catch our eye in our search for new and different ways of playing weekly and daily Fantasy Football. A key factor in this new offering is its simplicity, which replicates the familiar Fantasy Premier League (FPL) rules and scoring.

Another major plus is the focus on customised leagues, offering the chance to create tailor-made contests based on all the week’s games, single matches whilst only allowing players from certain teams to be picked. Those Manchester United fans dreaming of a Manchester City and Liverpool player-free league should definitely take a look.

We’re partnering with the game over the season and Tom Fenley will be opening his account and waging another £100 of stake money, starting this coming Friday. Tom will also be offering player recommendations in tomorrow’s “Weekly Shop” article.

For now though, here’s the full skinny on Fantasy Bet…

What is it?

Understanding the scoring and gameplay of Fantasy Bet couldn’t be simpler for those familiar with FPL. It recreates the same rules of selecting a 15-man squad, with a starting XI, four substitutes and a captain as well as vice captain.

The scoring is also identical to FPL. The only exception is the slightly different bonus points allocation, although it is also based on a performance-based  statistical model as FPL is.

There are slight tweaks, though. While initial player prices mirror FPL, they will remain unchanged until a January transfer window realignment. There’s no need to worry about Riyad Mahrez’ price rise, then.

Another change is that the number of players Fantasy managers can use from one team increases as the pool of teams that can be selected from falls. For a league based on a single match, up to 15 players from one side can be selected if you feel particularly confident they will do the business.

Why Should I Play?

Fantasy Bet’s FPL familiarity makes it an easy game to dive straight into and there is an appealing flexibility around leagues, with free to enter contests as well and entry price leagues.

Although you can only enter one team per league, you can enter as many as you like and also enter the same team in multiple leagues.

In addition, Fantasy Bet has created its own leagues, called “Guaranteed Games”, which offer a cast-iron minimum payout. Once registered and logged in all leagues can be found in the Find Games section.

When playing there are also live points updates during matches, another plus point that always appeals.

How Do I Start?

It is pretty straightforward. Simply register an account for free here. You are then able set up and join leagues.

Leagues can be open to a select group or to all. If you want to only include friends make sure you select the ‘invite only’ option when creating your league.

After joining a league you can then select your team and are taken automatically to the team selection tool and player list.

Fantasy Bet has set up a number of free games, which still offer cash prizes. A good starting point is Fantasy Bet’s Freeroll league.

The deadline to submit a team is also generous, and set 20 minutes before the fixture, so there is plenty of time to take in the teamsheets before your XI take to the turf.

Fantasy Bet, like many weekly Fantasy games, is a form of gambling so you have to be aged over 18 and over to play and, if you do wager some cash, please remember to gamble responsibly.

I'd seriously consider Aguero for Rooney. He didn't look to far away when he came on the other night

Their defence was against Leicester but they can still score goals

It's more like Leicester's attack shone, but it was against Sunderland, and meanwhile they conceded two against them. If Sunderland's really really shite, as they may well be and there is little obvious reason to think they weren't, then there might not be much to shout about in Leicester's attack while their defence should be avoided like the plague.

But that, as said, depends on how bad Sunderland really is.

Firstly it's how sh1te are Sunderland. I hope it's the football team you're referring to! Secondly, we were sh1te against Leicester and will no doubt be not much better against Norwich. We are always sh1te against the poorer teams. Check our wins and clean sheets record from the last couple of seasons

Ok so funds mean I would have to go HAZARD and 4.5m mid. That isn't better than Say for example MANE 137 and CHADLI 160 last seasons HAZARD 233 + highest 4.5m? Also HAZARD played 3373 mins, MANE 2132 mins and CHADLI 2407 mins, the later two should get more gametime this season?

Why all the love for Rooney as (C)? He was poor against Tottenham. Who would you pick? -

    (A) Rooney ---- Villa A
    (B) Pelle ----- Everton H
    (C) Mane ----- Everton H
    (D) Sakho ----- Leicester H

    Thanks.

I'm going with Rooney but then again I went with Hazard GW1. The safe pick isn't always the best one but I don't have enough confidence in Sakho or Pelle to go with them.

Nope. I've benched Kompany instead (!), hoping Hazard will shine like the gem he is. And my free transfer this week is kicking out sterling to let Coutinho in. Pool got a bumpy program, but i think Coutinho will come out on top if looking ob those two alone.
