I have been very lucky really.

Made some crucial changes before the deadline. 72 points -4 should move me up the table.

    Fab for Pedro
    Sakho for Wilson
    Mertesacker for Sagna for -4
    Also Pelle (C)

His goals have been class too. You can tell when a player gets a hot streak with fortunate goals - this is not his case.

Just found this old post of mine in my bookmarks, outlining some FPL rules to live by. I thought I'd repost it for a giggle. Player names are left unchanged to give it that fashionable retro feel 😉

    Anyone got anything to add?

    The Rules:

    1. Never settle for second best in any given position for any given team
e.g. is Sturridge a better pick than Suarez as he’s cheaper and will score almost as many points?
No, never was and never will be. This sort of thing happens season after season…..

    2. Buy him when he starts scoring
e.g. should I get Walcott now or in a week’s time?Neither. Buy him when he starts scoring.

    3. Never sell a player who’s scoring
e.g. should I sell Remy or Betenke?
Betenke, as Remy is scoring well

    4. Don’t try and get clever. It never works
e.g. Nani has signed a new contract and is home to CPL next……
    Fail

    5. Never get cute with the captaincy
e.g. Nani has signed a new contract and is home to CPL next……
    2 x Fail

    6. Its never too late to swallow your pride
    e.g. Mr Aaron Ramsey Esq.

    7. Who do you envy?
e.g. which player do you look at in a H2H opponent’s team and think, “uh-oh”? Who do you see has scored on a matchday and think “not again”?Maybe you should buy them….

This is such a simple game, and its so easy to loose sight of that.

Great post. (Despite the spelling mistake in the conclusion 🙂 )
There should be an addition rule or two about patience and resisting the knee-jerk. Don't sell a player after one blank. Don't buy a player because of one surprise haul.

Advice, please? I have £0 ITB, 2 FTs

    Front 8 of:
    Sanchez - Silva - Mahrez - Surman - Depay
    Kun - Gomis - Diouf

Depay obviously needs to go. Don't have enough for Pedro, would quite like Ayew but is that too much reliance on Swansea. Perhaps that's the answer - Gomis to Wilson (?) which would leave funds ITB but also not necessarily keen to drop Gomis either after 4 in 4.

Other mid options I guess are Payet, Cabaye, Mane...

    Thoughts appreciated...

Absolutely gotta be Chelsea defence, mainly Ivan. Rooney and hazard are right up there too.
Not too disappointed with Depay Altho he seems to be a favourite here, I think he's allowed to be given more time to settle in. But Rooney and hazard have been complete disappointments

Most of my starting midfield -> Fabregas/Walcott/Milner along with Ivanovic and Rooney.

I think overall people expected more from Hazard and Aguero, but I still expect them to come good.

very close call. you're ditching the fountain in City goals to get a good "safety blanket" and a starter with pens on a medium team. VERY close call

Guestimates of what De Bruyne will cost? They put Sterling in at 9m (£50m IRL) and Pedro in at 9.5m (£21.1m IRL). De Bruyne was a massive £58m if reports are to be believed. So what will he cost in FPL? I'm guessing in the same ball park as these two, probably 9.5. Does anyone have any clue as to the methodology they use?

If they use stuff like assists and goals, competition wins etc, which i'm guessing they do... He could be pretty pricey. Has had a hugely impressive year. Hopefully below Silva's price, if he is i'll be bringing him in.

Has nothing to do with transfer fees.

They price based on the players history

I think with the hype, and with them maybe trying to force a debate between Silva or KDB, I'd lean towards 10.5

Lol. The top 1k is stacked with outright autocomplete teams, or autocomplete-esque teams.

Then they're about 2.5mil teams between them and me, many of whom have cashed out on all three chips, taken -16 hits each week, and left the captaincy on Joe Hart.

    Early transfer made:

    Hazard > Pedro.

Got to make the value gains while I can early doors, any advantage is welcome this season.

Obviously with a view to getting a cheaper Hazard back when hes showing improved form.

Low risk as the guys im playing against in mini leagues who i consider threats all have Pedro.

I think this is a great shout, I've done the same with the same long term plan.

Hazard just isn't in form right now and, though he gets less of the ball, on comparing the underlying statistics (goal attemps, chances created, crosses & corners) Pedro is better value at 9.5.

I'm considering but I just know Hazard will do something as soon as I take him out. Lots of people in my ML have gotten rid so I think I want to keep him as a differential.

You have to rent them for designated lengths, at varying cost I think. I try to just build a Saturday/Sunday/Monday rotation to allow lots of changes.
Works ok, but worry the loan system could be more beneficial...
