An extraordinary death threat ode to Granville provided the inspiration and backdrop for this week’s Scoutcast.

My co-host wasn’t sure whether to feel flattered or mildly panicked by a community post like no other.

Recovering from the menacing tribute, Granville joined forces with Jonty and myself to assess the merits of the deadline day arrivals, before grappling with another round of community questions.

We rinse through the De Bruyne debate, the heavy-hitter slump, briefly consider buying Jonny Evans, before tentatively giving out dating advice – again inspired by the imaginations of you, the community.

    Contemplating saving my transfers and playing all out attack with only Kola-Darmian.
    Myhill is a risk and Targett's last game probably, if he plays.

    C) .7 m itb. Just do Targett to a 4.7m def? Which one?

      I'm not so sure. Think pelle and Southampton are more capable of producing goals than a newly promoted team in the long run. Bournemouth have good fixtures but Southampton are useful against any opponent

          I think thats a bit harsh, they 6th for goals scored last season and even if you take it say from 1st january they were top half for goals scored. Sure they're not Champions league quality but they're comfortably in that second tier of teams.

              This is an argument I'm not a huge fan of but I'll run with it and take away those 8 goals if you take away every other teams best game and discount those as outliers. Southampton are still 7th on 46 goals from 37 games.

    Ward injured? Just realized he is red flagged. So it is just between Richards & Gomez for the last spot in my team, many people advised me to go Richards, but my gut tells me Gomez. I think Richards is unlikely to get a CS but Gomez has the potential. Someone please convince me why not Gomez? Cheers!

      Honestly think they will both concede. Who do you think will have the best opportunity to get an assist? I would go with them. Plus richards is more likely to concede multiple goals.

        IIRC Richards almost got a goal last game, but I am not sure who has a better chance to get assist. Only last spot in my team so is either 1 but not both of them. So Gomez or Richards?

          I hate points on the bench and benching headache each GW. I still remembered I benched Kane when he scored a hat trick against Chelsea last season, since then I no longer like front 8 rotation.

          fpl dont do second assists. I know people who have worked it out occasionally by scraping all passes from squawka maps but Im no that good at coding.

              I gathered you did but I was just expressing my own interest in it. I can get data from fpl, that's easy enough, but Squawka's code is deliberately hard to scrape to protect OPTAs data.

            I'm pretty sure Opta tracks the second assists, but for some reason they aren't included in the FFS members stats.

              They 100% do because they track every pass but not of their commercial customers i.e. traditional media, whoscored, squawka etc are bothered enough by them to pay for the extra data. I'm sure clubs take second assist data pre-formatted but in the public domain scraping pass maps from another party (Sqawka) is the only way I've seen them logged. Europeans just aren't as interested in "hockey assists" as our North American counterparts.

    my rival is set that aguero is too expensive for what his worth.. and the banter has not stopped each week with aguero not getting points... my thinking is just keep the (c) on aguero and theres nothing to worry about.. he better start banging them in soon!

    During Austria’s Euro campaign they have only conceded 2 goals. One in their first match and one in their last match against Sweden. One man ever present is Sebastian Prödl. Question is Watford’s defense better than Austria’s? Also it’s not like Austria play in the BPL but is he worth considering moving forward?

        Could really do with an Ayew price rise and then ship to gain his 0.1m this week.

        On a WC and have the following attack to grab price rises.

        Sanchez Pedro Ayew Yaya Mahrez
        Kun Wilson Gomis

        Thinking Ayew & Yaya -->> Silva & Westwood. Sound good? Thoughts?

        Hi guys my team is:

        Myhill McCarthy
        Darmian/Williams/Gomez Simpson/Ward
        Sanchez/Silva/Marez/Pedro Wanyama
        Aguero /Wilson/Deeney

        Ive got £2.8 ITB was thinking of doing one of the following four but can't decide:

        1. Gomez to Kolorov
        2. Deeney to Rondon
        3. Gomez to Dawson
        4. Save the transfer

        Just wanted to know what option looked best. Thanks guys 🙂

        Yeah I should just wait and see....just a little worried about Arsenal exploding this week and I have exactly enough in the bank for Ozil.....if I had enough for Sanchez he'd be in my team already....
