    Hi all.....

Any thoughts on sterling and gomis to payet and martial for a hit tonight before martial price increase?

Would also captain martial v Sunderland....

Can't afford just gomis to martial...

Do I do it....Or is it crazy?

    Thanks!

i think those of us with Tekkers have an easy decision.. team not in form/injury problem and no hit needed for the swap.
It's the people with Gomis/Pelle etc that have a decision to make.. i have an inkling it's them that are casting these gametime/fixture doubts regarding Martial 🙂

sorry last post at the page's end

What's the most efficient way to get Martial in my team:
    http://i.imgur.com/JsfB24N.png

Aguero vs Spurs feels like a no go
    Sanchez vs Lei seems promising

    So either Gomis>Martial and Wilson>Ighalo
    or Gomis>Martial and Sanchez>Pedro

    Decide for me!

    Cheers

      Either with

      Wilson to ighalo
      Or gomez to Huth

Only way you can do it really realistically.if you captaining Martial it's prob worth it..if not I'd leave it

Agree with you.. Watched the game vs Arsenal and Pedro was every bit as threatening as him(and even more so) yet people just noticed Hazard cause of the goal in extra time vs 9 men

Rubbish.. We are talking from an fpl perspective here btw. so by "threatening" i mean position wise/shots taken and chances created. Ridiculous that you say Hazard played 5 times better btw.. in the first half vs 11 men both of em were ghosts. then Pedro stepped up and finally Hazard

How about there three changes -4

Gomis + pedro + sanchez. To payet + Martial + hazard

        Current team

        Butland, mcarthy
Kolarov, cedric, kos, Darian, S taylor

The lone Man Utd forward for £8m.

Rooney was hyped to have his best season in years, but now we have this guy cheap as chips.

Mon in Martial, take a place up fron t for me.

Yeah fair enough Tony. Just wondering if next week, you look at Martial in your team and he's blanked vs Sunderland and now has these tricky fixtures. I get that he's awfully tempting, and may be worth a transfer even if he were to blank, but think folk are being a bit hasty. Just a general point, but if he fits into your plans and doesn't mess things up for future transfers and you have no other priorites this week, it could be worthwhile

The buying of form has worked so far for me.

The chance that he could be a gem is to much to pass up Demi.

I'd rather get him in and find out rather than wait and wonder and miss the boat at £8m.

The thing is I was quite vocal on the Rooney will have his best goalscoring season posts that my thinking was he was no longer a no.9 but a no.10.

I think that has become fairly evident a bit into the season.

United's solid base and the creativity of Rooney and Mata should see Martial get chances even during tough fixtures.

The thing for me is how cool and efficient he looks in front of goal. Zero nerves.

Even though United have some tough fixtures they will still score goals. And he looks like the man to get them.

I'm happy to accept the risks of my transfer (Gomez > Marital) as there is a potential for high rewards. Both in points and price rise.

I was tempted but martial could rise .3 making it harder in the future..besides martial is a worthy captain option..especially next week.lot will captain him. .could be ff suicide not to invest

      1. Demí
        • 15 Years
        10 years, 4 months ago

Thats the thing, i'm not sure he's a worthy captain option just yet. United aren't producing great shots, 6 goals from 6 shots on target in last 2 games. 2nd goal was gifted to him, 1st was offside, although superb finishing in both cases. Even at 8.5 he'd be worth investment as a united striker, but it may be more prudent to hold off for a few weeks. He'll start falling if he blanks vs Sunderland i think

I know what you mean yes. I don't think I'd have taken an hit for him but he can score goals which is what utd have been missing for all their posetion. Hard games after next week on paper but the big teams still not performing so anything can happen. .the only issue is if he does score big next week .everyone will have him and he too high risk not to have so would have to lose a striker anyway. Tough decision admittedly

8m for Utd striker in form. Beginning and the end of the debate for me.

Ighalo can battle it out with Wilson and Vardy for the budget slot. But that's for another day.

Couldn't agree more. .... complete focal point for the United attack. If he's not scoring the goals then he'll be assisting.

Also United are going to win more games then watford.... therefore in the process score more goals!!! It's quite easy for watford to have a losing streak or keep blanking. Martial is the safer wiser choice in my eyes and has gone straight in my team.

After this week I'm around the 160k mark

That's my dilemma. I'm not really sold on Martial, but he just plays for the better team and I'll be more excited to watch him.

The fixtures though are on Ighalo's side.

Agreed. My original plan was Kane to Ighalo and Sinclair to Payet but everyone on here seems to think Martial is essential

Exactly the issue going on in my head. Then I log on to this site and find out I am not alone! I love this place! 😀

So Martial..as a united fan owning him and then watching him score would be just so special. We haven't had any great FPL assets from United in the last season. Di Maria was for 3-4 matches, Mata in parts, Shaw/Darmian until one got injured.
This one looks like the long term pick if he stays injury free. There is nobody to take that place from him in the next two matches at least.
But then the Arsenal and Man city matches look scary. Too much control and chances might not be created for him enough.

That being said, before this performance from Martial, I was so sure on Ighalo. In form, Watford proving somewhat resolute in winning, being the main man..AND being a differential in my mini league where everyone would be awed by Martial and looking to bring him in. Add to this, he has quite decent run of fixtures (not facing City and Arsenal in the next 4!).

I have funds for both (who wouldnt). Heart says Martial, mind says Ighalo..

I would like to add, I am tempted towards Martial as he is a mid price option and also wouldn't disturb the balance of my FPL team. But it's all about form isn't it?

Yes, agree with you. I've actually succumbed and got Martial in now after a lot of thinking. Will ride the price risers, and i wouldn't mind benching him in one of the games after Sunderland. I can see him getting sold by many if he blanks this week though, hope i'm wrong. 8m for United's 1st choice striker(he should and probably is now) is never a bad option in the long-term.

Vardy, Sakho and Son. More and more budget-priced to mid-priced forwards. Not forgetting that Gomis and Pelle could very well achieve the same amount of points.

Just seen Martial is 260% likely to rise tonight. Tempted to grab him and savour the inevitable double price rise this week, then maybe get Ighalo.
If Martial scored against sunderland he'll rise another 0.2 yhe following week. Man united fans don't consider fixtures!

This is the beauty of FPL. Making the hard decisions. If you not transfer Martial in today, he is going to rise. We don't really need money right now but what if later Aguero, Sanchez, Hazard, Martial, KDB or some expensive player killing it. You want that .3.

I'm a huge MU fan btw. We are avarage right now but winning games. If Depay, Rooney is getting better we can score goals and Martial can score them.

I wish I stuck by my pre-season conviction that Ighalo was a better choice than Deeney; who everyone was stuck on. But was talked out of it.

I brought in Martial before the Liverpool game - a punt that paid off - and sometimes, people turn out to be fixture proof; even if the team as a whole are not.

Wow great shout and vision to get him in before Liverpool. R.e. Igahlo, he didn't start the first match, which is what put most people off and the fact Watford weren't scoring goals. Looks a great pick now though

I really like the post-WC team, but I'd rather have Payet than Ayew tbh. I'm also United fan, but wouldn't double up on Mata and Martial - I'd suggest to downgrade Pelle to Ighalo/Vardy/Wilson and upgrade Mata to Hazard.

see, i've wanted to get mata for a long time, since the villa game, he ran it, & he has been getting the points consistently, 6 7 & 8, around that, & i'm not really convinced by hazard, i think pedro would be a better alternative, ok chelsea won, but it was against 10 men, it was expected once gabriel was sent off, but can they do it against a proper defence, if i had to have a chelsea player, it'd be azpilicueta or pedro, value for points, frankly at 11 million, hazard must give around 10 points consistently
