Gameweek 11 is upon us in the Fantasy Premier League game. Here’s my regular list of captaincy options, clean sheets and match predictions based on what the bookies say.

Captaincy options

The names on the left-hand side are the leaders in FFScout’s captaincy poll, while on the right are the bookies’ best bets to score. On the far right are the decimal odds.

Captaincy Analysis – here are my 2 picks for the armband this week

  1. Wilfried Bony (NOR) – With Sergio Aguero still injured for the foreseeable future, Bony has been given his chance upfront and has already rewarded those who have lumped for the Ivorian already. His next two fixtures (norwich & villa) look great for keeping the points flowing especially with service from the likes of De Bruyne.
  2. Sadio Mane (BOU) – Mane has served his ban from his sending off against Liverpool and will be well rested for their game against Bournemouth. Getting on the scoresheet before his sending off was an encouraging sign despite an overall poor quality to the game as a whole. He sits at a good price in FPL (7.9m) and looks a great armband choice to deliver the goods against a Cherries side who currently sit 17tth and are leaking goals almost at will right now.

Clean Sheets

(in order, decimals on the right):

Tottenham (10/11) 1.91

Man City (11/10) 2.10

Everton (23/20) 2.15

Southampton (6/5) 2.20

Man Utd (8/5) 2.60

Arsenal (8/5) 2.60

Chelsea (17/10) 2.70

Newcastle (19/10) 2.90

Watford (2/1) 3.00

Leicester (21/10) 3.10

West Brom (9/4) 3.25

Stoke (23/10) 3.30

West Ham (12/5) 3.40

Crystal Palace (11/4) 3.75

Liverpool (3/1) 4.00

Swansea (9/2) 5.50

Bournemouth (5/1) 6.00

Sunderland (5/1) 6.00

Aston Villa (11/2) 6.50

Norwich (8/1) 9.00

The Matches

Chelsea (19/20) vs Liverpool (3/1)

As predicted in the last article, Chelsea lost 2-1 to a West Ham side who continue to be an entertaining team this season under Slaven Bilic. If we’re honest, Liverpool’s defence is still a complete mess and Daniel Sturridge is still made of glass so Klopp hasn’t had too much to work with of as yet and is likely to try and sit back and frustrate Chelsea.. One man who has shone for Chelsea is Willian (6.8m) and has seemingly nailed on a place in the starting line-up, he could be key for Chelsea in this one. Prediction: 1-1

West Brom (15/8) vs Leicester (8/5)

Leicester in their current form will be battling it out for a spot in Europe this season, providing they keep their star men fit and firing on all cylinders. West Brom sit in the middle of the table and their defensive resolve is of no surprise with Tony Pulis at the helm. West Brom need to improve their attacking ability if they want to win football matches. The main man is of course Jamie Vardy, 10 goals, nailed-on and has a hunger in a player that is a delight to watch. I expect Leicester to score in this game with his pace. Prediction: 1-2

Watford 6/4) vs West Ham (15/8)

The Hammers beat Chelsea 2-1 in their last game and it seems Mr Bilic has his players working at full potential right now. Victor Moses could come in for Mauro Zarate, who looked knackered last time out in my opinion. Watford themselves beat Stoke and with Troy Deeney getting on the scoresheet, the Watford fans will be hoping he can help Ighalo on that front. The main man is Dimitri Payet, risen 0.8 since the start of the season, 5 goals, 3 assists and creates the most chances out of any player in the premier league. Prediction: 1-2

Newcastle (6/4) vs Stoke (15/8)

Newcastle once again lost out to Sunderland in their last game and I’m wondering If the momentum will stop there? They entertain a Stoke side where most of their summer signings have not peformed as of yet and questions will be asked. After looking like building up some momentum they lost to a Watford side where they were expected to win comfortably. One man who has stood out for me is Ayoze Perez, nailed on starter since mid-September, with the right support I fancy him to score in this game. Prediction: 2-2

Man City (ΒΌ) vs Norwich (10/1)

A 0-0 draw in the Manchester Derby in their last game hasn’t damaged their attacking options from an FPL point of view. Norwich come into this game from a third straight defeat and you don’t expect them to get anything out of this game. One could also argue that Arsenals’ resurgence at the top of the league will give Man City the extra incentive to keep on their toes. As stated above, Bony is reaping the rewards from the injury to Aguero and I expect him to be on the scoresheet this week. Prediction: 4-1

Swansea (9/2) vs Arsenal (4/6)

Arsenal sit level on top of the league with Man City and are serious title contenders this season and I don’t expect a youthful side who lost in midweek to stop their momentum. Walcott is out till after the international break affording Oliver Giroud a run of games, he could well be a canny purchase. Swansea picked up a win with Andre Ayew and Gylfi Sigurdsson on the scoresheet but face a considerable harder test this week. One man who continually goes under the radar is Mesut Ozil (8.6m) he offers better value that his similarly priced midfield colleagues and has produced 30 points in his last 3. Prediction: 1-2

Crystal Palace (13/5) vs Man Utd (11/10)

Crystal Palace come into this game from a 1-0 loss last Saturday with their attacking options being stretched to the limit. Manchester Utd entertained their noisy neighbours and a subdued 0-0 was the result but their defensive performance was a positive for the Red Devils. Phil Jones (5.2m) offers a cheaper option into the Manchester United defence and has done equally a good job as Chris Smalling, if he can stay fit, he could be a decent purchase. This game could be anyone’s but with United showing this defensive resolve coupled with a lack of options upfront for Palace. Prediction: 0-1

Everton (Β½) vs Sunderland (6/1)

Everton face a Sunderland side full of confidence after a Derby win but their record following these types of games is abysmal. You feel Everton should be challenging for Europa League like Leicester and West Ham but something doesn’t seem to click. Romelu Lukaku apparently can’t wait for a move to a big club but it won’t happen if he remains so inconistent in his peformances. Ross Barkley (6.8m) is owned by 21% of FPL managers and with some decent fixtures coming up, he looks the pick of the Everton bunch for me, Prediction: 2-1

Southampton (4/7) vs Bournemouth (5/1)

Southampton sit 8th in the table and have shown creativity in most areas of the field. Equally their defence seems to be tightening up with a special mention to van Dijk whose stats in the last game were quite frankly amazing. Bournemouth suffered another big defeat and they also played what was largely a full-strength team in mid-week and it doesn’t look promising for this GW. Sadio Mane as stated above has had his rest and I’m backing him to score against a porous Cherries side. Prediction: 3-0

Tottenham (4/9) vs Aston Villa (13/2)

Can Tottenham’s comprehensive victory over Bournemouth get their Champions League ambitions going properly? Well the omens look good as they face an Aston Villa side who are managerless and if we’re being honest, look all over the shop. The main man is likely to come in the shape of Harry Kane, he bagged a hat-trick last time and I believe he will have his mojo back and is a solid bet to score in this one. Prediction: 1-3

Anytime goalscorer quadruple > Bony + Perez + Mane + Kane @ 17.24/1

Good preview of the weekend. Hope you are right about Bony - pride of place in my team. Think I'll get Mane in on UFPL for a cheeky loan move.

I've so many injuries and so far behind now that I'm taking loans most weeks. Working out ok so far. Aguero and Chadli out for Kane and Mane this week. Gives me two great captaincies for MD2 and MD 3. Well worth 6 pts I think.

I'll be totally honest I haven't a clue how it really works as never signed up but Aguero and Chadli out for Kane and Mane can only be a good thing πŸ˜‰

You are locked in until January with a 25 squad....trouble is around 10 of mine are injured which is the luck of the draw I guess.

There are in gameweek changes and you can bring a bench in bit like the World Cup McD game... so having a good captaincy each day is useful.

That's about it really....other than that like FPL but with more bells and whistles.
