Fantasy Football Scout Cups – The Finals

This afternoon we reveal the results from the final of the Members Cup VI and also find out which two Fantasy managers will compete in the final of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII in Gameweek 32.

In the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII semi-finals Leon Harris defeated konman to set up a final encounter against Numb, who beat Tap in his semi-final by the narrowest of margins.

Numb needed overall rank to see him through after both he and Tap scored 84, thanks largely to their captaincy of Harry Kane. With an overall placing of 27,046, Numb out-ranked Tap’s 29,676.

In contrast, Leon’s victory was more straightforward thanks to his savvy use of the triple captaincy chip for Harry Kane. The Spurs man’s 48-point haul gave him a Gameweek 31 score of 100, which left konman’s very respectable 80-point total for dust.

Despite an overall rank of 2,842, Leon goes into the final as the underdog. After transferring out the injured Vincent Kompany for West Brom man Jonas Olsson in Gameweek 31, he only has one free transfer remaining. He has also used all of his chips, including the second wildcard.

In contrast, Numb, who already has two top-500 finishes in his six previous FPL seasons, has two free transfers, his second wildcard and two Chips (Triple Captain and Bench Boost) at his disposal. With the winner receiving £200 in Amazon vouchers, compared to £100 for the losing finalist, he may well decide to cash in one of his chips to give him an advantage rather than look to boost his overall rank of 27,046, by saving them for the upcoming double Gameweeks.

For Leon, his key differentials include Manchester City’s David Silva, who faces Bournemouth, and Arsenal’s attack-minded full back Hector Bellerin, who takes on Watford. Meanwhile, Numb has Yaya Toure as well as Mesut Ozil to call upon.

In the Members Cup final, the 17,771st-ranked Ola Svanheld defeated community veteran Rasping Drive by 83 points to 76. He earns a £200 Amazon voucher, while Rasping Drive, who is ranked 129,606, takes away a £100 Amazon voucher.

After using his triple captaincy on Harry Kane in the semi-final to good effect, Ola declined to use his remaining bench boost and second wildcard chips to achieve victory in the final. Assists from Gylfi Sigurdsson and Dimitri Payet proved the crucial difference for Ola, as both he and Rasping Drive captained Harry Kane and had the likes of Swansea skipper Ashley Williams cemented in their sides.

Congratulations to both our Members Cup finalists and good luck to Leon and Numb in Gameweek 32’s Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII final.

My team is not so much different, although I dropped Kane and will be selling Lennon in gw 34 for Firmino (starting with Coutinho)

But Elliot injured sure is a bummer, he was great value

Darlow perhaps in the frame? Is Robles actually nailed? GK is the only position I'm worried about.

The base is there, it's just 3/4 players I have to decide on I guess! My problem is I go with that front 3, isn't exactly many Lennon replacements come GW35 with no money ITB...

Indeed but depends on how long Elliot will be out, I'm hoping for the remaining of the season or not at all so I can just go with Darlow instead.

Not sure if Robles is completely nailed but he seems to be first choice and most of us on here are going with him, cheapest route into a meh defence

What about keeping Kane for the 2 remaining games, switching to Martial in gw 34 and then you'll have some money to upgrade Lennon?

Both Elliot and Cech injured is quite a bummer, they both rotate perfectly with Robles...

I'm starting with Coutinho since Firmino is not 100% fit yet

It's not Firmino - I don't mind him too much.

But peeps are in fact lucky that Elliot is out ...

4.0, good fixtures, dgw in 34, game in 35

What's not to like for that price 😀

Both my keepers hurt, so have to get Robles in for a hit now. Not sure where the blessing comes in 🙂

    Getting Mangala on my WC.

    - Every game that at least one of Kompany or Otamendi has been injured, Mangala has started. He is firmly 3rd choice (actually also started ahead of Kompany/Otamenta 3 times). Conclusion - nailed while Kompany is injured. (source: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jumplist/ausfallzeiten/verein/281)
    - Kompany's 2 previous calf injuries this season were each forecast at 3-4 week out when he got the injuries, but he was actually been out for 6-7 weeks. For the current injury (also forecast at 4 weeks, though some reports have cottoned on and it could be more), a 6 week absence would mean he'll miss up to and including GW35... after which is the ideal time to ship Mangala out anyway!

    Finalising my GW33 WC:

    Cech, Ruddy
    Bellerin, Sakho, Rojo, Reid, ???
    Ozil, Payet, Firmino, Mahrez, ???
    Aguero, Kane, Lukaku

    For the final two spots:

    1)
    A) Clichy (good fixtures, and a DGW, but questions over rotation and City's ability to keep CS without Kompany)
    B) keep Fuchs (no DGW, but very consistent for me, BP magnet, Leicester motivated to the end of the season).

    2)
    Y) Lennon/Bolasie (both have a DGW, but have blanks in GW35 I would have to plan for, and questions over rotation/form respectively)
    Z) keep Alli (no DGW, but very consistent, works well with Kane, and Spurs will be motivated pressing Leicester for the title).

Currently on BZ but that doesn't feel very adventurous given the DGWs... Any thoughts?

Would you take a hit to get Sanchez for Barkley this week and WC next week?

    Alder Bertrand Simpson Ivan Ward.

Should I use AoA with Iva and simpson or take hit to field 3 def atleast.
FT used to get iva instead of Kompany.

AoA isn't much use in the future I guess.
    Would you?

Afternoon all. First time on since the site revamp. Reserving comment for now, as I'm sure a lot more fine tuning will happen over the next fortnight or so. Initial reaction is...different, but some good things. 🙂 But will get used to it.

GTG here? Deciding on whether to sit Lukaku, Silva or Ali this week. Getting in Sanchez will have to wait now, as GK injuries forced me to get Robles a week early.

    Robles
    Bellerin, WIlliams, SImpson
    Ozil, Ali, Payet(C), Mahrez
    Kun, Kane, Lukaku

    Elliot(+), Silva, Daniels, Dann
