The Fantasy Football Scout Leagues Round-Up

For the final time, we take a look over the Fantasy Football Scout leagues across a number of games, assessing the lay of the land in light of Tuesday’s last match of 2015/16. With leagues in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Ultimate Fantasy Premier League, Sky Sports and Sun Dream Team, there’s plenty for us to pore over:

FPL, Fantasy Football Scout League. Winner: Dimitri Nicolaou

Despite being let down by Alexis Sanchez’ six-point armband return at home to Villa, Dimitri Nicolaou still held onto his spot at the summit to clinch the FPL title. His decision to play the All Out Attack Chip backfired when Jurgen Klopp chose to omit Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool’s clash with West Brom, though Arsenal pair Hector Bellerin and Petr Cech chipped in with a combined 17 points as Dimitri finished eight points clear in the overall standings.

Site regular Ed Masters took second in the FFScout league after handing Sadio Mane the armband at home to Palace. The Senegal international racked up 26 points, whilst Bellerin, Laurent Koscielny and Sergio Aguero also picked up points as Ed finished third overall.

Jake Yates earned 70 points despite captaining Sanchez. The likes of Mane, Olivier Giroud and Bellerin all delivered double-figure hauls, with Marcus Rashford also getting amongst the goals in United’s win over Bournemouth on Tuesday night. Jake ended a single point behind Ed in fourth overall.

In fourth spot in the Scout League was Andy Turner. His decision to draft in the ten-point Jordon Ibe proved inspired, whilst Troy Deeney, Bellerin and captain Aguero elevated Andy into eleventh in the world.

Matt Currie took fifth spot in the Scout league after bagging 65 points. He also captained Mane and benefitted from double-ups on Arsenal’s defence (Gabriel and Bellerin bringing in 17 points) and City’s attack, with Aguero and Kelechi Iheanacho serving up 12 points between them.

Thanks to the endeavours of our top five, Fantasy Football Scout finished at the top of the League of Leagues once again.

FPL, FFS Members League. Winner: Ed Masters

Ed Masters also clinched top spot in this season’s members’ league. Known on the site as Mo Mane Mo Problems, he finished the season on 2,444 points, which was 27 points ahead of second-placed Marsel Levi (who took 18th place) and Michael Sheehy, who clinched 36th position on 2,402 points.

Ultimate FPL. Winner: Sultan Osman

Sultan Osman held onto top spot in the Scout league after racking up an impressive 97 points in Gameweek 38. He ended the campaign on 2,898 points – enough to earn him fifth overall – with Imran Rahman (2,850 points, 14th overall) and Richard Harte (2,844 points, 20th overall) completing our top three.

Sky Sports Fantasy Football. Winner: Alan Wood

Alan Wood ran away with top spot in both the Scout league and overall rankings – incredibly, he finished 106 points ahead of his nearest challenger for the crown and walks away with £20,000 for his season’s work.

In the Scout league, Jonathan Bancroft came in second, whilst Dexter Hayes, meanwhile, sat in third on 2429 points – just nine points behind Jonathan. , Trevor Fricker (13th overall) and Barry Grimes (14th) helped complete the top five.

As a result of the performances of our top five, we successfully defended our crown in the “League of Leagues”, which comes with a £2,000 prize. The top five managers in the Fantasy Football Scout table will each receive £400 as a reward.

Sun Dream Team

Jeff Payne finished first in the Scout Sun league on a total of 2321 points (38th overall) –he had Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho on board for Liverpool’s 3-1 Europa League final loss to Sevilla last night. Jeff finished just a couple of points ahead of second-placed David O Byrne, who also had the Reds’ duo on board, whilst Jonathon Bancroft (who had Roberto Firmino for last night’s clash) sat third on 2281 points.

Scout Picks Community Champion

Red Devil was the winner of our Scout Picks challenge, where each week a member of the community was selected by a lottery to go up against our Gameweek selection. By defeating us by 25 points in Gameweek 17, he wins a £100 Amazon Voucher and a place in our Contributors and Moderators League for the following season.

Fantasy Football Scout Cups

Back in April, Leon Harris clinched victory in the Fantasy Football Scout cup final by defeating community regular Numb by 84 points to 69. Leon is the twelfth winner of the trophy and succeeds Mark as the latest on the rostrum.

Ola Svanheld was the latest winner of our Scout Members cup. He got the better of community veteran Rasping Drive in the final by 83 points to 76.

Both cup winners earn £200 of Amazon vouchers, whilst the runners collect £100 Amazon vouchers.

Fantasy Football Scout daily hot topic

With Euro 2016 Fantasy Football preparation getting in full swing I thought it'd be good to compile a list of strong budget prospects.

We all know the main players, but which cut price players are nailed on and offer the chance of points?

Please do give reasons for your choices.

mentioned on the previous article, but Milik is extremely overrated. He's a flat-track bully with very limited footballing ability

its not all about stats. I've been at all Milik's home games the past 2 years. This season 6 of his 21 league goals came against top half sides. He's great though at scoring against the likes of Roda & Excelsior. Earlier in the season he was dropped and we played the likes of Klaassen, Schone and El-Ghazi out of position in his spot.

i picked Rui Patricio.. Pepe is too expensive. (i wouldn't pick any other atm).. better wait for friendlies to see if Fonte will play

Yeah , I already have Patricio . Do you think you guys will be defensively sound ? Considering a double up if Fonte plays the friendlies

fairly good.. he usually will win 1-0/2-0/2-1. the same that happened in qualifiers

the manager is Fernando Santos and he's good for that, as you can see with his stats for greece: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fernando-santos/leistungsdatenDetail/trainer/782/verein_id/3378/datum_zu/2010-07-01/datum_ab/2014-06-30

Koke @ 7.5 for Spain. Nailed on as the main ACM in a world class team with a point to prove in this competition.

what makes you think that he's nailed? so many mids in that team

        1. Mavric Marco
          • 11 Years
          7 years, 11 months ago

Yes but as the ACM role its ether him or Isco, nobody else will play there IMO with Silva out wide.

I think on current form and performance for club Koke is well a head of Isco.

          1. Piggs Boson
            • 12 Years
            7 years, 11 months ago

Silva played in the #10 during the last game, with Koke in the double pivot. So you can't see these as the front 3 mids?

            Pedro Silva Iniesta
            Silva Cesc Iniesta

So much talent to choose from... Thiago could partner Busquets too...

            1. Mavric Marco
              • 11 Years
              7 years, 11 months ago

I don't think Koke will sit back with Busquets or Iniesta along side him and let the other one go forward. Therefor if Koke is not in a No.10 role he'll be a CM that pushes forward while Busquets or Iniesta sit deep every time. I know Silvas best position is ACM but he could easily be pushed out wide to accommodate Koke, but Koke will defiantly be in the centre one way or another IMO

Fabregas could easily play there with Busquets and Thiago in the pivot.

Really cannot see Fab playing No.10 with all the other creative attacking options on offer, plus he's had a poor season and he's getting on a bit now.

I had a look at the stats from the Qualifiers last night and think Weiss and Milik offer good value.

Weiss is an assist king and can grab afew goals now and then.

Milik will score points, but he is playing in a team with Lewabdowski so can see that limiting him a bit.

Hysaj (ALB / DF)… 4.5. Decent season with Napoli. Mild assist potential. Albania only conceded five goals in qualifying.

Pazdan (POL / DF)… Two of Poland’s three games look comfortable, against low-scoring teams. Looks set to start. 4.5 good value.

    11. Netley Lucas
      • 8 Years
      7 years, 11 months ago

Rafa Silva could be a useful 5th @4.5 given his goals & assists at club level, if he gets time.
Defenders? Denayer is by all accounts Kompany's replacement, 4.5 is therefor too cheap.
James Chester could offer us a smash & grab cleanie v Slovakia, looks fairly well nailed ahead of Collins, so a nice 4.5 there too.
The Spanish RB situation might throw up another 4.5 but maybe best wait to see if that looks likely.
Cedric might be another but again, best wait.
Randolph might just reward a 4.5 punt more than Jan Mucha, if you can find that extra wee bit, he is apparently well nailed.

      Ronaldo > Griezmann.

Ronaldo is usually poor for Portugal and they can be quite defensive plus France are a better team and have an easier group plus hosts nation. I can see Griezmann being top goalscorer

Going to give the Euro Fantasy and quizzes a miss this summer. See you back here in July for the low ID scramble! Peace out brothers 🙂

Here it is the groove slightly transformed
Just a bit of a break from the forum
Just a little somethin' to break the monotony
Of all that hardcore FFS that has gotten to be
A little bit out of control it's cool to play
But what about a life that soothes in a different way
Give me a soft subtle mix
And if ain't broke then don't try to fantasy fix it
And think of the summers of the past
Adjust the baseline baps and let the alpine blast
Pop in my CD and let me run a rhyme
And put your life on cruise and lay back cause this is summertime

    Summer, summer, summertime
Time to sit back and unwind

Ekdal might not make it to the Euros and even if he does it's possible he definetly loses his possible starting place in the friendlies before.
      Valbuena not in squad.
Question is if Mangala will be a starter, Kos is competition.
Lots of other question marks also in your squad.

Sadly real life got in the way and I missed about 5 or 6 deadlines. Last night I made my first transfer in since gw 4 I think. I wont be able to follow deadlines onwards either.

Top 100 is great!!!. Keep up the good work and watch out for all players going on internationals in summer, there is Copa centenario in the US.

I am sitting around 700, pretty happy with that as my knowledge of the league is fairly limited but starting to get to grips with it.

Early draft team, looking at investing all my money in a 4-3-3 setup:

    Rui Patricio
    Chirches Dier Hector Koscielney
    KDB Zengin Alli
    Griezmann Muller Ronaldo
    (Mucha R.Sanches Denayer Bender)

Got £1m left over but not sure where to invest as the £4.5m's will never be played

You will probably have to play all your players since we have manual subs between gamedays

I've never played the euros before, coming from FPL surely manual subs will be better as i wont be 'forced' to play people?

Yes, I also think it's better, but then you should have 15 decent starting players, because there's practically no subs, since your starting formation is based on which teams are playing first. But of course, you can choose to play only with autosubs and have all your money invested in 11 players

hey, I'm doing a stats breakdown for my mini league with a summary of how the season panned out. Someone posted a hot topic in the last week about a link if you entered your ID you could see how many players you used from each team. Does anyone know the link or is there a way of looking at old hot topics? Thanks!

    Opinions?

    DDG/Fabianski

Stones, Pique, Eliseu, Darmian, Gebre Selassi

    Ozil, Martial, Alli, Rosicky, Sigurdsson

    Arnautovic, Lewandowski, Vardy

I'm kind of just picking players that seem fairly fixture proof (cause I don't know their international form)

While it's nice and slow, all the new members this year who weren't around for FPL opening last year should check the link below:

It's beautiful at that time here. Look through the pages after that link too..

And most importantly, be around for the opening this year.
