Dugout Discussion – Wales vs Portugal

The Euro 2016 semi-finals get up and running this evening as Wales take on Portugal in Lyon at 8pm.

After drawing all three of their Group F fixtures, Portugal squeezed past Croatia in extra-time before seeing off Poland on penalties in the previous round.

Wales, on the other hand, have won four of their five matches, culminating in a stunning 3-1 victory over Belgium in the quarter-finals.

Despite failing to win any of their five matches in 90 minutes, Fernando Santos’ side are regarded as favourites to clinch a place in Sunday’s final against France or Germany.

Certainly, in terms of shot count, Portugal have boasted the greater threat and fired 95 attempts to Wales’ 60, though they’ve failed to take their chances and trail their opponents by six goals to ten.

Ultimately, tonight’s match could come down to the battle between Real Madrid team-mates Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

The former has fired more attempts than any player in the tournament, yet has scored just two of his 36 attempts, whilst Bale leads the way for shots on target (14) in Euro 2016 and will be looking to compensate for the loss of the suspended Aaron Ramsey to fire his country into the final.

          Fair enough

          but I think there are no post game substitutes allowed so only 11 players count, so you may want to keep your cheap inactive players or just cheap Portugal players to maximise your 11 playing players

          But I have not read the rules 😉

            I really see at least 3 saves for Lloris and max three goals conceded, which means he still gets 2 points (as Hennessey), bar Lloris doing something stupid on the pitch.

      don't watch Bundesliga, all I can say that one of MU fans I know is not happy about him...but then it's one of those who doesn't know much outside MU:))) I will consider him into my FPL team, much depends on price

      I really like him, was a big fan of his and was hoping he would come to Liverpool but that bar steward Klopp signed him for Dortmund.
      He's pretty quick and can beat a man but in terms of FPL its his goals that should attract people. He is honestly a machine. 23 goals last season and was Bundesliga player of the year. He has a great track record too, with an incredible amount of goals even before he signed for Dortmund. He is also Armenia captain.

          Well, sort of, I would say he's more of an inside forward. Starts on the wing a lot but like Hazard of old he drifts in all the time. Essentially, he's absolute fantasy gold. I can see at least 12 goals from him if he stays fit.
          Pricing will be the main interest for me. 10 I reckon.

          Cam or winger, but will play wing in UTD since Rooney will be Cam. I hope for UTD sake Rooney doesnt play and rashford goes right and MKHI goes mid. That is so dangerous...

      Fast, skillfull, top passer, good at shooting, good at crossing, good stamina

      Started life as a CAM, but more suited to a wing role, and has played there more often recently.

      Very possible he'll be as effective as KDB
