Dugout Discussion – Arsenal vs Burnley

The day’s events continue at the Emirates Stadium, where Arsenal and Burnley provide the backdrop to Alexis Sanchez’ latest attempt to build on his stock as a Fantasy Premier League “essential”.

The Chilean starts this match backed by 18.2% of FPL managers, with 52 of the top 100 also endorsing the Gunners man for another return.

It’s easy to justify such a show of faith: Sanchez has returned a goal or an assist in eight of his last nine Gameweeks, with eight goals, four assists and nine bonus points collected over that period.

In addition, he faces a Burnley side that has the worst away record in the Premier League, winning only one of 26 so far on their travels.

Sanchez also boasts an enviable record against the Clarets. He has scored three and assisted twice in his two previous outings in all competitions against Sean Dyche’s men at the Emirates.

Olivier Giroud adds to the Gunners threat. The Frenchman has scored in each of his last four Gameweeks and leads Arsene Wenger’s attack once again, having shaken off a toe injury.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

If you are legally allowed to kick someone in the head when they are offside, I'm going to start playing football 😉

So my ML rival was brilliant enough to bench McAuley at home to Sunderland... but that's ok cause he's lucky enough to get his San(c)hez goal from his offside Kos assist in the 97th minute. Great.

Can anyone beat my 23 bench points (not including Jakupovic)? Carroll (13), Smith (6) and Pieters (4). Aaaarrgghhh! Ah well, strength in depth and all that ...

I would normally never bench a striker, but a 5-man midfield with Phillips (SUN) and Stanislas (WAT) was just too tempting. Sanchez' penalty and BPS may save my week though.

Well I had lallana vs Swansea, eriksen, hazard, Sanchez and stanislas so fixture wise I had to bench gray vs Arsenal :/

Absolutely. In theory, it's a nice headache to have, as the cliché goes ...

Yeah that's true, just causes a headache. I've never gone 3-5-2 except for now and it's more hassle than standard 3-4-3 lol

Emotional rollercoaster that as someone who has Mustafi, Sanchez captain, and a bet on Arsenal O2.5!

Heaton 6 six saves is nice too. Shame about Giroud, but can't win them all!

Thank f for that. C sanchez this week. Need to watch what Costa and Haz do now. How they perfom today determines who out of the two will be in my team for next week.

I think that's Costa regardless ... Also a Hazard owner.

Could be right. I have haz now but would prefer Costa
Need 10 points minimum to stay with hazard.

What's the most penalty time you've seen tacked on in a Premier League game?

10 or so...when Kuyt scored a last minute equaliser at The Emirates.

How is De Gea never in the watchlist for goalies? Isn't that weird?
