Olivier Giroud and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are set for late fitness tests ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Chelsea, though Arsene Wenger expects both to be available. Aaron Ramsey is ruled out for three weeks with a calf complaint.
Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson has been ruled out for the season after suffering knee ligament damage in training. Charlie Daniels is also unavailable for the trip to Goodison, though Max Gradel is back in contention after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.
Calum Chambers has a chance of returning for Middlesbrough’s clash with Spurs, though Gaston Ramirez and George Friend are still unavailable.
Virgil van Dijk has been ruled out for two to three months with an ankle complaint, while James Ward-Prowse and Jay Rodriguez will continue to be assessed ahead of Southampton’s clash with West Ham, Claude Puel has confirmed. Meanwhile, cub-record signing Manolo Gabbiadini looks in line for a debut after arriving from Napoli on transfer deadline day.
Xherdan Shaqiri remains sidelined for Stoke’s clash with West Brom, while Glen Johnson is expected to miss out again. Wilfried Bony and Mame Biram Diouf are back in the squad after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.
Leon Britton is back in training and comes into contention for Swansea’s trip to the Etihad. New signing Jordan Ayew won’t be available, though, as he is still turning out for Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Sunderland new boys Bryan Oviedo and Darron Gibson will be “in and around the squad” for the trip to Palace, David Moyes has confirmed. Papy Djilobodji serves the second of a four-match suspension.
Steven Defour is sidelined for Burnley’s trip to Watford due to a hamstring problem. New boys Robbie Brady and Ashley Westwood are both available to make their debuts, Sean Dyche has confirmed.
Marco Silva has confirmed that new signings Alfred N’Diaye and Kamil Grosicki are available for Hull’s home encounter against Liverpool. Dieumerci Mbokani is also in contention after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, though Lazar Markovic cannot play against his parent club.
