Wisdom Of The Crowd – Gameweek 8

Each week we are reviewing the aggregated predictions on Superbru’s Premier League Predictor game, using the collective Wisdom of the Crowd predictions to guide our fantasy football thinking.

Please join the FFS league here and add your own predictions to the data – the more there are, the more accurate the crowd should be (in theory).

GAMEWEEK 7 REVIEW

Burnley’s win at Everton was the biggest upset of Gameweek 7, whilst Liverpool were also expected to win at Newcastle but only managed a draw.

Here are the Gameweek 7 results in descending order of predictability:

Tottenham over-performed away at Huddersfield, whilst Leicester, Chelsea and Everton were underwhelming last weekend.

Well done to Oliver Aplin for winning the Yellow Cap in the FFS pool, and climbing 112 places to 43rd in the process.  Mr Crowd Wisdom – using the aggregated predictions of the crowd – is down slightly to 101st, but still performing well above the average.

GAMEWEEK 8 PREVIEW

Here is the Expected Goals chart for each fixture in GW8:

And here is the ranking of teams in order of Expected Goals Scored and Conceded:

It’s Man City, Chelsea and Tottenham that are predicted to be the highest-scoring teams this weekend, and if Sergio Aguero is still out, Gabriel Jesus could profit in attack, along with the plethora of midfield options.

These numbers may also please those considering Eden Hazard, whilst Harry Kane looks a safe pick ahead of Spurs’ home clash with Bournemouth.

In defence, Chelsea is predicted to perform the best, away at the goal-shy Crystal Palace, with Spurs and Man City also predicted to keep clean sheets.

Here are the aggregated predictions that we’ll enter into the game for Mr Crowd Wisdom in the FFS pool.

Is there anything else that catches your eye in these crowd predictions?

Don’t forget to join the FFS league on Superbru and make your predictions each week so that they are included in these data – the more knowledgeable people there are, the more accurate they should be in theory.

Good luck!

Think lots of people default to 2-1 and 1-1 for a lot scores, sure there will be a good few more.

Should i go for Mbemba in case he plays and the possibility of a clean sheet against Southampton or should i go Carroll against Huddersfield in case he does the miracle and scores or assists?

I like these articles. Am hoping we don't see to many uncharacteristic performances due to the international break. There's always one rogue result.

This is one of my favourite articles. Thanks for this and introducing me to Superbru too. Somehow I'm above average but there's still plenty of time left for that to change for the worse lol

So is Batshu better pick then Vardy? (2,88 vs. 1,49 goals)
