Dugout Discussion – West Ham vs Liverpool

After just four goals in the afternoon matches, we could feasibly beat that in the final kick-off as West Ham host Liverpool at the London Stadium.

Having won this game 4-0 last season, the Reds will be heavily fancied to run out victors again, particularly after the revelation that Sadio Mane is fit to return to their starting XI.

The Senegalese gets the nod, with Daniel Sturridge dropping out of Liverpool’s front three to make way. Elsewhere, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain earns a first Premier League start in midfield.

However, it’s fair to say that the main focus will be on Mohamed Salah who goes into this contest with five goals from his ten Gameweeks, backed by almost two million owners and with 250,000+ trusting him with the captaincy.

West Ham’s Fantasy assets have long been in decline. Chicharito remains by far their most popular asset, figuring in 13.1% of squads, though he has lost 384,000 owners in the last four Gameweeks.

With injuries and suspensions at the back, it’s expected that they will struggle to repel Jurgen Klopp’s charges.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I suppose that it's hightime for me to get rid of firmino downgrade him to someone cheaper and upgrade midfield, surely he is not worth 8.5 mln and i hope that i wont regret that move with the nice run of fixtures that lvp will have in upcoming weeks.
Who will be the best cheaper replacement for Firmino ?

He was never worth 8.5m as a forward. He was frustrating as a mid last season, so him being classed as a striker was a downgrade. Not sure why people went for him.

He would have had an assist if ox put his first shot away. He also just missed a goal. With Mane back, he may start producing again.

Rumours suggesting Sean Dyche to Everton.
Does this put people off doubling up on Burnley defence? And could it potentially make Everton defensive assets more appealing? One to monitor over IB potentially

    Wildcard starting to take shape.

Looking at going light at the back with nailed on defenders who are good chance of a clean sheet. They can rotate with Murry/Abraham and Loftus-Cheek. Still need to work on which defenders to get and look at Xmas fixtures.

    Pope / Elliot
    Jones / Mee / Zanka / Duffy / Dunk
    Alli / Salah / Mane / Richarlison / RLC
    Kane / Kun / Murray

    Thoughts?

I’ve a love/ hate relationship with the third Striker spot.

So often fails but quite fun going in search of a hidden gem.

Sidibe was perhaps the most surprising success I’ve had over the years.

If you were to play 4-4-2 I'd have Calvert-Lewin up top. Spend the extra .5 for someone who play and you can rotate him with bench.

Yup. Considered him but on gw8 WC I didn't feel that was necessary yet. But before Xmas fixtures full bench needed so I'll either get funds for Tammy or switch back to 3-4-3/4-3-3 with 3 up top.

      Abraham, maybe Murray.

They won't score every week but they're looking good so far.

4-4-2 since the start of the season and into the top 100k, if my captain choices had been better I’d have been a lot higher also

I've switched to a 4-4-2 with Calvert-Lewin as my near permanently benched third striker.

There simply aren't enough striker options I'm interested in at either premium or mid-price points for me to go with three strikers, whereas there are plenty of picks at different price ranges in defence and midfield.

I find that opting for 4-4-2 gives me more opportunity to easily run away from any picks that don't work out.

All hail king Ladopo, been in team since wildcard ages ago. Haven't come close to needing him, and have 14 other players I want, and who play. My aim is to have no more than 17.5m on bench each week, and this 4.5 3rd striker helps.

I'm doing 4-4-2. Now with Joselu but want to downgrade him for DCL or Niasse.

I honestly think if you wait long enough till he gets to 5.7-5.8m then you'd have missed the boat. His value is in how cheap and nailed he is. Played him all 11 weeks and for 5.0m, I have 58 points or whatever.

RP: 2FTs going into the break - think I need to sort out either Hunemeier or King for the Xmas rotations.

    Elliot - Fab
    Luiz - Jones - Kiko - Dunk - Hun
    Salah - Silva - Richarlison - ChoMo - King
    Kane - Aguero - Jesus

    A) Jesus + King > Morata + RLC (Would mean Hun bench fodder, RLC back up)
    B) Aguero + Hun > Morata + Daniels (all 5 DEFs are decent, King fodder, +0.5m ITB)
    C) Aguero + King > Morata + Groß (Hun fodder, would have a playable front 8 and need to drop one each week)

Why is everyone talking up Daniels I just looked he has done nothing to note for ages and when he has he has got feck all in returns tbh. Surely your better off with Ake and the CS baps run + Ake can score if he is still getting forward on set pieces (which I presume he is)
