Each week we are reviewing the aggregated predictions on Superbru’s Premier League Predictor game, using the collective Wisdom of the Crowd predictions to guide our fantasy football thinking.

Please join the FFS league here and add your own predictions to the data – the more there are, the more accurate the crowd should be (in theory).

GAMEWEEK 15 REVIEW

It’s Tottenham again at the top of the upsets table, with only 19% predicting their draw with Watford.  Elsewhere, results were slightly more predictable last time out, and one Superbru player predicted 8 exact scores to win £2,500!

Here are the Gameweek 15 results in descending order of predictability:

Well done to Parasite Aimar from Argentina for winning the Yellow Cap in the FFS pool.

Mr Crowd Wisdom – using the aggregated predictions of the crowd – moved up three places, and remains well above average on page one of the leaderboard.

The aggregated predictions of the community are making better predictions than most individual players in the game, suggesting that there is credibility in the Wisdom of the Crowd concept.

GAMEWEEK 16 PREVIEW

Here is the Expected Goals chart for each fixture in GW16:

And here is the ranking of teams in order of Expected Goals Scored and Conceded:

Liverpool is just edging Chelsea in the predicted goals, and fresh from their 7-0 Champions League romp, the likes of Mohamed Salah and Philippe Coutinho could be worth backing.

Chelsea look set to deliver points at both ends of the pitch, ranking second for both most goals scored and fewest goals conceded. This will be welcome news for those looking to hand Eden Hazard the armband this week, as well as those owning Blues defenders such as Marcos Alonso.

Whilst Spurs at home to Stoke is worth looking at from a defensive point of view.  The fact that they are only fourth for predicted goals scored suggests that people may be losing patience with their attacking stars. Harry Kane’s failure to score against Swansea, Burnley, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace at Wembley is clearly preying on the crowd’s collective mind.

Here are the aggregated predictions that we’ll enter into the game for Mr Crowd Wisdom in the FFS pool.

The crowd is backing City to win the Manchester derby at Old Trafford, Liverpool to beat Everton and lots of 1-1 draws suggesting plenty of meetings of evenly-matched mid-table teams.

Looks like they just asked Merson, 2-1, 2-1, 1-2....

Cheers. More justification on my decision to bench Dunk over Ota, Daniels, and Azpi given their attacking potential over the easier fixture.
