Each week we are reviewing the aggregated predictions on Superbru’s Premier League Predictor game, using the collective Wisdom of the Crowd predictions to guide our fantasy football thinking.
Please join the FFS league here and add your own predictions to the data – the more there are, the more accurate the crowd should be (in theory).
GAMEWEEK 23 REVIEW
There were a few upsets last weekend, with Arsenal’s defeat at Bournemouth the biggest shock – only 4% of people predicted a Bournemouth win, whilst just 8% expected another draw for Chelsea.
Here are the Gameweek 23 results in descending order of predictability:
Well done to Christos Constantinides for winning the Yellow Cap in Round 23, after picking the Chelsea and Newcastle draws, as well as Liverpool’s win over Man City.
Mr Crowd Wisdom – using the aggregated predictions of the crowd – slipped down 4 places, but remains in 50th place out of 459 people.
The aggregated predictions of the community are making better predictions than most individual players in the game, suggesting that there is credibility in the Wisdom of the Crowd concept.
GAMEWEEK 24 PREVIEW
Here is the Expected Goals chart for each fixture in Gameweek 24:
And here is the ranking of teams in order of Expected Goals Scored and Conceded:
A home match for the marauding Manchester City means they are back to the top of the Predicted Goals chart, with Tottenham and Liverpool also expected to score well in their away matches, at Southampton and Swansea respectively.
Spurs talisman Harry Kane is the leader in the captain’s poll, but these stats may make people look again at City frontman Sergio Aguero or their winger Raheem Sterling for the armband.
Manchester City and Chelsea are expected to keep clean sheets, whilst Liverpool, Everton, Manchester United, Tottenham and Leicester are also worth considering in defence.
Is there anything that catches your eye in these predictions?
Good luck!

Cheers. Something for those with Aguero and Kane to think about regarding the captaincy. 🙂
