Reading played their second Peace Cup tie tonight and ran out 1-0 winners over French Champions Lyon. Simon Cox got the winning goal while new boy Kalifa Cisse was acclaimed man of the match with his performance in midfield. Reading lined up in a familiar 4-4-2 with Doyle and Long up front. Skipper Murty returned in defence, his first game since March. Harper was substituted with a head injury but that doesn’t appear to be a concern at this stage. One other point of interst, Doyle missed a penalty so it might be worth watching for a switch in taker in forthcoming games.
Reading Lineup: Stack; Murty, Golbourne, Bikey, Duberry; Harper (Gunnarsson 28), Cisse (Oster 65), Cox (Halls 78), Hunt; Doyle, Long
