Just a couple of games last night which saw a goal for Torres and a defeat for Fulham. I wonder which one of those will be more frequent this season? Get the scorers, lineups and other stuff here…

Queens Park Rangers 2 Fulham 1

Fulham put out an almost full-strength side at Loftus Road last night but still went away on the wrong end of a 2-1 result. McBride got the Fulham goal from a Healy pass put Fulham in front but two strikes from Chelsea loanee, Sahar, won it for the Championship side. Sanchez shuffled his pack half way through this game, replacing Cook with Volz who came on at right-back with Konchesky moving to left midfield in Cook’s position. Bocanegra moved to left-back with Baird in the centre of defence. Further changes were made in the second half but Fulham couldn’t peg back Rangers and slipped to defeat in their last friendly before taking on Arsenal on August 11.

Fulham Lineup: Niemi (Warner 58), Baird, Konchesky, Bocanegra, Knight (Pearce 58), Davis (Bouba Diop 58), Dempsey (Rosenior 75), Smertin, Healy (John 58), McBride, Cook (Volz 46)

Shanghai Shenhua 0 Liverpool 2

Fernando Torres hit his first goal for Liverpool as Rafa’s side chased some pre-season silverware in Holland. Torres received a pass from Benayoun to flick the ball over the Shanghai keeper after just 12 minutes of this match. Gerrard got the second, coming off the bench to curl a shot into the top corner from outside the box. Benayoun was lively in this game and was awarded the man of the match award. Liverpool now face the hosts Feyenoord on Sunday to decide the winners of the Rotterdam tournament.

Liverpool Lineup: Martin, Insua, Hyypia, Paletta, Finnan, Leto, Sissoko, Leiva, Benayoun, Crouch, Torres.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
