Sir Alex seems prepared to throw Carlos Tevez straight into the action against Reading at the weekend. Tevez trained with United for the first time today and Ferguson was quick to comment on the sharpness of the Argentine, indicating that despite a full pre-season, he could have the fitness levels to play a part at the weekend.
United play two friendlies on Wednesday night against Glentoran and Dunfermline and Tevez will get a run out in one of those games. Sir Alex will then make a call on his fitness. An impressive performance, coupled with a substitution around the hour mark, could indicate that Reading could yet be the first side to attempt to counter the Rooney/Tevez partnership.
