Sneaking in before the pre-match preamble, here’s the very latest team news featuring the Neville brothers and Chelsea’s Joe Cole and John Terry – all delivered without a hint of the f*** word.

Let’s crack on then, starting with news from Scolari – whose press conferences are already becoming a season highlight. He’s revealed that Terry should be available for the visit of Villa on Sunday, despite a scare concerning his lower back after the Champions League win in midweek. The player himself has also confirmed that he expects to be available. Alex also looks set to start with Scolari commenting that Drogba is set to be the only absentee from the side that played in Europe. What’s more, Joe Cole could also be available having trained on Friday. His availability would put either Kalou or Malouda under threat.

Over at Old Trafford it looks very much like Gary Neville is struggling, despite Ferguson offering assurance that his injury was a minor knock after he missed the Champions League win on Tuesday. Neville managed just some light jogging earlier today so it looks as though Brown could earn a recall at Rovers.

Gary’s brother over at Goodison is also a doubt for the weekend – he picked up a hamstring injury in the UEFA Cup defeat on Thursday. His absence would likely see Castillo return to a holding role, with Moyes keeping a 4-4-2 – unless he gambles on the fitness of Pienaar who returned as a sub on Thursday. Saha is also a doubt and if he doesn’t pull through then Anichebe would be favourite to start.

Finally, Hull have doubts about the fitness of Marlon King for the visit to Spurs – he’s been out all week with a back problem and Brown hopes that King will get some training in tomorrow and be available for Sunday’s game. As for Spurs’ namesake, Ledley King is pleading with Ramos to let him play his second game of the week, despite his creaky knees. Considering Ramos is talking of resting Woodgate, it looks unlikely.

Get al the team news, nicely collated for you right here.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
