Gus Hiddink has made some reassuring noises ahead of Chelsea’s crucial Premier League fixture with Everton tomorrow night – dismissing the need to rotate his lineup, despite Champions League and FA Cup commitments.
The Chelsea boss will have options going forward, as his injuries begin to clear. Deco is missing from the squad for Wednesday’s game, as is Bosingwa. However, the right-back is reportedly due to return to training on Thursday and could therefore come into contention at West Ham this weekend.
Bosginwa could well find himself back in the side, either at right-back with Ivanovic switching to left-back or at left-back himself. With Ashley Cole suspended for the Champions League semi with Barcelona a week today, Hiddink may well be keen to try out a new option at left-back. Interestingly, Hiddink watched Mancienne play out of position in that role for the reserves last night, so he could come into contention this weekend and even against Barca.
