Morning all. Here’s a little something for those brave enough to wrestle with those Saturday morning selection dilemmas. For a while now I’ve been working on a new format for the Monthly Picks which you may have noticed, have been missing from the right menu. Today I’m publishing their replacement – The Watchlist…

This table of players represents my view (with input from all your favourite Scout contributors) of the players to consider as mid-term picks. As a rule these are based on the next five games (see the next five ticker in your sidebar). I plan to update the lists each Sunday/Monday after each gameweek to reflect the new fixtures to come and they’ll be “Watchlist” player articles posted, that feed off information in the table.

Rather than bamboozle you with more letters and numbers, I’ve done away with all the secret code and symbols I packed into the monthly picks, and given you a short explanation behind the selection of each player. There’s also a list of those presently off the radar and a budget selection for each position.

There may well be some changes to the format as we go but for now, I’m happy with things as they stand. So enough of me – go take a look. Apologies if this information overload just adds further confusion to your Saturday morning deadline woes. Hopefully, in the long-term, this new section will be a help to you. I’m sure it will spark further debate.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
