There are new reports this morning suggesting that Arsenal will be without Cesc Fabregas for the rest of January. According to an article in the Daily Telegraph the loss of Alex Song to the African Cup of Nations has been compounded by a prolonged spell of absence for the Arsenal skipper.
Arsene Wenger has previously indicated that he hoped that Fabregas would recover from the hamstring injury in time for the Everton game this weekend. However, another report in the Times today states that Fabregas will miss the Bolton game tomorrow night and be absent for another week, ruling him out of the weekend fixture.
There’s conflicting information then and until we get official confirmation from the club on the injury, owners of the Arsenal skipper can only hope for the best. I’m sure we will hear more very soon, perhaps in the light of Arsenal’s preparations for tomorrow night’s game. Wenger is normally forthcoming with team and injury news so the pre-match press conference could tell us more. These early reports are far from encouraging however.
