We are pleased to announce that the Fantasy Football Scout Cup, sponsored by Paddy Power, will return for a second season, starting next week. As before, the competitions are free to enter, but this season we’ve upped the number of competitions to three, with two open to everyone and one open exclusively to members.

For those unfamiliar with the competition, the Fantasy Football Scout Cup is our version of the Fantasy Premier League’s Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round, of 512, will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the winner is the person highest in the overall standings. The winner will then progress to the next round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup…

Before the first round, entrants will be required to qualify. All names in the hat before the given deadline will have their scores for that gameweek (minus points spent on transfers) ranked in order, with the top 510 (for the upcoming competition) progressing to the first round proper, where they will join the current and past champions.

As alluded to earlier, the first competition opens for entry next week, so check back on Monday when full details, including how to enter and what prizes are on offer, will be published. It will be the first of two open to all competitions.
