Another week, another chance for Fantasy Football Scout to spread our wings and dabble in our favourite FPL distraction, the Metro Fantasy Football game.
As mentioned this time last week, we’ve now taken on the mantle of “tipster” for the folks over at the Metro and our choice picks for the upcoming Gameweek have been published again here for those who dabble in the Opta powered game. Believe it or not, we’ve even found room for a Liverpool player.
Stevie G gets the Metro nod with team-mate Fernando Torres just shy of the mark. The same can be said for Chelsea’s Florent Malouda who, as in most weeks, finds himself overshadowed by Didier Drogba’s credentials. Midweek Champions League heroics demonstrated the devastation that Gareth Bale can produce, but he too lost out to a team-mate, despite the “out of position” sensibilities. For those in the dark, Bale is classified as a Defender in Metro; happy days.
As usual, the punt card presents far too many options. Jose Bosingwa is due to make his first start on return from injury and falls just shy of a selection, I’ve a hunch that Aleksander Hleb will open his Birmingham account against the gracious Blackpool defence, and Chris Brunt (see Sir Paulos’ earlier Watchlist article) at home to Fulham has a clear chance to continue boosting his impressive returns. These are just the tip of a Titanic-sinking iceberg.
