Gameweek Nine saw 256 fantasy managers battle it out in the second round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup III, sponsored by Paddy Power. Those involved surely know the outcome of their own fixture, so to see how everyone else faired this round click here.

If reading the results James Alexander Gordon-style isn’t for you, then read on for the round highlights. However, before I get onto listing the key outcomes, I have to bring you some tragic news… I am no longer involved in the competition, after a 51 – 40 robbery against JohnSteed01. A minutes silence will be observed before the round three fixtures.

One Fantasy Manager who might be able to get over that news is The Plutocrat who, after his 74 – 40 annihilation of timboeve (the widest margin of victory in the round), earns himself a free £25 bet courtesy of Paddy Power.

Just missing out on the prize was rajmanutd who, along with chipsngravey (in a very northern outing), was involved in the highest scoring tie of the round, as the former prevailed 70 – 59.

At the other end of the spectrum was billyboychrisd‘s 37 – 33 victory over dadoune. Which wasn’t the lowest score jammy enough to win this weekend however, CarlowsGalacticos‘ narrow 36 – 35 ousting of Dino wins that award.

That was one of eleven match-ups decided by a single point, which included greghammer95‘s 53 – 52 win over hello 911 it’s quagmire….

Three fixtures went down to the tie-breaker of overall rank, which saw bossdrum, Chris81 and targa eliminate Clive, Burton and Mattenue respectively.

Contrasting fortunes for our former champions sees donnellyc marching on, thanks to a 40 – 31 victory over ham5ter, and Jonty doing one, as a result of his 55 – 48 loss at the hands of Ann_der_roo.

Granville is now the only contributor to have a berth in the tournament, as he saw off wolves_simmo with ease 50 – 32, with Pure Olivia (46 – 40 Ty_Durden67) and I getting beat.

So now we are down to 128, just 10% of everyone who entered the competition. They will learn of their opponent on Thursday when the third round fixtures (to be played during GW10) will pop up on the site.

Well done to those awaiting that fixture list (not you JohnSteed01), and commiserations to everyone bowing out this time round (some with more grace than others).

I can see Spurs doing well at OT. Maybe not a win but put it this way, i'm fully expecting my players; Nani & VDV to do well and be at the forefront of their respective offensive plays.

Change my tune a bit, IF I need to get rid of Hart for a cheapie keeper.

    1) Robinson
    2) Carson

    Already have Foster

Carson / Foster rotate ok (only 3 weeks when they both face tough opposition by my reckoning) but there are some tricky who-to-go-for weeks - this one for example.

      Robinson then.

I have Carson but only as a handcuff for Hart.

Thinking of downgrading Hart at some point to get Cashley in and Robinson would be my choice of keeper tat the moment if I made that move now. Though Id wait til after Blackburn played Chelsea, of course.

I've had Foster/Robinson for a few weeks but have transferred Robinson out for Gilks until GW16 when BBURN's fixtures pick up a bit.

FWIW - I think they are both good picks going forward.

If thats what you want then yeah, go for it.

You'll probably want to keep Fabs and swap Nasri out later but it isn't a bad idea this weekend to keep 'em both as they both have the potential to score big on Saturday.

Actually I was wondering what to do with Bale. I have decided to sell him but I need to know for who now. Originally I was thinking
Bale -> Nzogbia or Brunt or Adam
        Berbatov -> Tevez
But now I am not well enough financed
I could do Bale -> Jordi Gomez and then get Tevez in but I dont know. Help!

If it helps you I'm thinking of doing Bale to either Adam or Brunt and Fabs for Malouda.

I think going to Brunt gives you enough for Tevez too, no?

He shouldn't go up until at least Fri if the protection period on Fantasy Tools is accurate. Nobody can be sure 100% sure though.

What are people's thoughts on John Terry as an FPL player? It's not a name you hear often round these parts. I think i've missed the boat with Ashley Cole but wouldn't mind some chelsea defence (with less rotation risk than Bos). Was thinking of O'Shea -> Terry next week possibly? Am shipping Malouda for fabs this week.

I like Terry. If I didn't have A Cole I would go for him. always good to pop up with a goal every so often. Although he is really pricey, but that's the price you pay for a top non rotation risk defender.

    Team currently

    Krul)Jaas)

    O'Shea Hughes Coleman (Elmo) (Carr)

    Malouda Fabregas(capt) Adam Nani( Albrighton

The comments so far sum up why I'm finding it a difficult choice. Elmander's home form is putting me off him, considering Bolton have four home fixtures coming up. On the other hand, I think Dembele will lead Fulham's line but has only just come back from injury.

he's just known for being an arrogant asshole on/off the field and has no reason to be since he's not even top class. in the american football world, he thinks he's God's gift to the world. i know some people who've played w/him and they've all said the same thing- people playing around him can't stand him.
